I completed the Pokèdex on the Blue and Gold versions. I want to finish it for Fire Red, but I can't be bothered to hack in every RSE-only specie and evolve them.

I've finished the Kanto dex in Pokémon Yellow and the National Dex in Ruby/Emerald. I'd finish the fourth gen Pokédex, but I'm too lazy.

I've never actually completed one... not only can I not trade, which makes it pretty much impossible in the first place (I believe?), I have an incredibly short attention span. Me even getting to the Elite 4, let alone beating them, is a miracle. Me completing the whole Dex? Other than HG, which is almost done... it's not going to happen any time soon.

My most completed one is my Platinum, with 491 seen, and 491 caught. With any luck, I should have Ho-oh and Arceus by Sunday through a trade with someone here, and FINALLY HAVE A COMPLETED POKEDEX FOR THE FIRST TIME!!!! 8D

Platinum was the one game I decided to go for it. Completed Pokedex, and for an added bonus, a living Pokedex. It's been real fun catching them all. Now I want more to catch when Gen V comes around. :3

I don't even try. I just catch the ones I see and train the ones I like.

With HGSS, I want to try. xD Gonna back track a ways and go and try to complete each pokedex without the event pokemon. :P Something's somehow motivated me to just try to do it. Not really sure what exactly.

I got it in Red, minus mew. (Finally went back for the Mew glitch last weekend for my playthrough of Gold, but that's neither here nor there)

As soon as Gold came out, and Nintendo was like "You only get Celebi if you live in a popular city for the trade", I gave up on the concept of getting a full pokedex. Especially now, with DP's... what? 14 Legendaries? 6-7 of which are 'Event Only' where you HAVE to buy a Wii, and the 9th movie. (Not sure about Regigigas, but that still requires you to own the previous gen) And that's not counting the previous gen's Event Only Legendarys like Deoxys, Jirachi, and I don't know how to trade forward Mew and Celebi.

It's the "GOTTA BUY EM ALL!" Reasoning that is the reason Nintendo won't turn Pokemon into an online game. It'd be one package that contained every pokemon, people could catch em all and be done with it with just 1 purchase.

I got all non event Pokemon in Ruby, without the Johto Starters.
But those games are long gone, and I don't even try any more

Bonus points if you live in a popular Canadian city, where Nintendo will ignore you anyways.

...huh? What exactly do you mean by "online game"? You can already trade over the internet...

Besides, the idea isn't that you "gotta buy em all", the point was so that you'd go out and meet people who also play and trade with them. :P

I've completed the Regional Pokedex on Platinum (210) and the old Red (150...also got Mew but on a different file so TECHNICALLY 151...some were cheated up to level 100 thought <.<;)
Technically I also have a complete Kanto regional dex of 151 on Platinum as well.

I'm getting close with the National dex on Platinum too. Mainly I'm only missing legendaries, Politoed and Kingdra (just because its so hard to find a King's rock and a Draconscale >:/) Its at a 470-something... All legit, cept my Jirachi, but I only got THAT one because I borrowed Jirachi from a friend to get the Pokedex entry, so I guess the entry itself is legit, but the current Pokèmon is not..

There's one thing I've been a bit curious of... if you get Mew at Pokèmon Red, Blue and Yellow and then proceed to get every single Pokèmon except say... Caterpie. Your Pokedex will be 150, will Oak and that guy in Celadon count it as having completed the Pokedex? (I would test it but I don't have a way of getting the version exclusive Pokèmon from Blue or the other starters anymore)

I could never complete a Pokedex on any of my games....until Platinum came along, where you are only required to SEE Pokemon, you don't have to actually catch them. Basically the only part of the games I care about is going through the gyms and League, and completing the whole storyline overall.
