I've written several more letters to CN, not sending the same letter each time, but with the same objective--telling PUSA that their decision to replace the actors was, among many other things, rude and disrespectful to the original cast. What's also disrespectful is that they think this now poorly-acted (I especially can't stand TR's new voices) show is a better production than that of the original dub. It's such a ridiculous situation they've created, no wonder the original cast got angry.

The writer and stagehand strikes (and the SAG strike that's being shown as inevitably happening next summer) going on made me think about the Pokemon situation, although the show doesn't pertain to the groups striking, nor is the show even union. But that's why I thought about it--producers and other powers that be have forced the hand of the people who work in creative and crew positions to strike because of corporate greed. The only difference between those entities and a show like Pokemon is that the latter's actors and crew have no union to support them, and they had no choice but to accept the shitty actions of the Ebeneezers who run the operation and always underpaid and undervalued them.

In the letters I mentioned that no one at school watches the show anymore--there used to be a pretty sizable group of people who liked the show despite the teasing they got about it sometimes. They liked the voice acting and the writing, even if the show wasn't really as good as it was in the early seasons. The decision to change the cast and crew directly affected their dislike of the show now, and the fact that they're not interested in the games anymore. My friend calls the show "suckemon" and says he doesn't want any more merchandise because the producers will "just take everyone's money and go buy hookers or whatever." (there's a pretty picture...)
