I personally love the concept of a scorching onibi-chandelier that eats souls. That concept, and the design that comes with it, just clicked with me. It's my favorite Fire-type, and among Ghost-types, second only to Froslass. I also love this thing on a competitive note. In the Dream World, it gets Shadow Tag, which is extremely helpful. It can trap Blissey and other helpless walls, put a Sub up to prevent status, and Calm Mind away until it's ready to destroy. It's also the bane of Scizor, as it's faster, resistant to Bullet Punch, and immune to Quick Attack. And since Shadow Tag's there, there's no way that cheap red mantis can escape Shandera's hellish wrath. Banded Scizor locked into Superpower become setup fodder for this thing. I am so anxious to raise this thing in Black!
I love it for most of the same reason's you do.
I love it so much, I'm currently working on a bit of fanart. (Thanks for the sprite, Green.)
I agree with all of those! =D
I didn't even think of all those competitive things that you noted (probably because I don't play competitively), but you bring up really good points. For me, I love it's unique typing, that said typing actually makes sense, and it's design. It's not my favorite Ghost type or Fire type, it'll be hard to uproot those, but it is very appealing. Everyday makes me more convinced that this guy will be on my team come spring.
Well, fanart's done. It's a group pic now.
This may be the most amazing Pokemon in the history of FOREVAH! I think even Gary Oak will find it hard to ignore its girth.
I have to agree with all of you guys. Shandera is easily one of the best Pokémon not only of this gen, but all times.
Its based on the chandelier in my house
I must know where to find one!
