Mafia is unlimited. Rule variations are infinite. This is for discussing how to make games more fun by changing the mechanics.

I'm trying to keep people slightly involved after death through votes only dead players can participate in.

Thats a really good concept, Phoenicks, it frustrates me to no end when you can't vote or post when dead, and still want to be involved with the game

On another forum (mariowiki) every mafia game has a seperate lounge thread, which is where dead people can continue to discuss the game. Sadly, Rayne was opposed to it when I asked him if I could do the same here for my first mafia (that's why I created the one-time-used social group instead).

We should make it a rule that the dead can't post in the main thread whatsoever. It annoys me to no end when we give speeches when we die, and we persuade the voting to go our way. Kinda defeats the purpose of being "dead"

That's why I wanted a lounge at first, but Rayne opposed to it. Now we have no lounge, and dead people just haunt the game thread instead.

I know, like the dead people in your last Mafia, when I was dead, on several occasions I wanted to say " God, * insert user name*, are you a vampire or something?

I prefer having an outlet for dead people rather than a general speculation group. When dead, people will probably move onto the next mafia game anyways.

Um, how about a general dead QT?

Anyways, one idea which has been played around with on Smogon (I happen to be part of it, and it is probably the most confusing game EVER) is where every single player is part of a faction, but needs a paticular person dead, and at least 3 people in another faction dead to win. Each person in a faction needs different factions dead, so working with your faction is actually counter productive (if one of your faction members dies or is removed from the game due to winning, you become a target from all he people who need a certain number of your faction dead), however many roles depend on your faction and working with it. Its absolutely insane to play in, especially since there are 6 factions. Of course, I don't plan to make one but if someone has the guts to try to get that to function be my guest.

I'm testing that QT for the dead people. (Taken from Phoenicks :P)

For the current game I'm not changing anything (they are the doctors, protecting one player), but in next game, I might add something.
Like, when the members in the dead QT reach a factor of four or five (depending on the number of total roles), give them a chance to kill a player.

I'm planning a two-games-combined mafia (which is basically mafia 1 wants town 1 dead, vice versa, mafia 2 want town 2 dead, vice versa)
