    A discussion for the unsolvable puzzle that is the Legend of Zelda timeline.
  2. $aturn¥oshi
    It's not unsolvable, they just won't tell us. I do know that Skyward Sword takes place before Ocarina of Time, though.

    Here's my lists.

    The Minish Cap
    Skyward Sword
    Ocarina of Time
    Majora's Mask
    Twilight Princess
    Four Swords
    Four Swords Adventures
    Oracle of Ages/Seasons
    A Link to the Past
    Link's Awakening
    The Legend of Zelda
    Zelda II: The Adventure of Link

    The Minish Cap
    Skyward Sword
    Ocarina of Time
    The Wind Waker
    Phantom Hourglass
    Spirit Tracks
  4. Azure Butterfly
    Azure Butterfly
    Minish Cap -> Skyward Sword

    OoT -> Wind Waker -> PH -> ST
    & -> Majora's Mask - > TP

    Aaaaand I haven't played a lot of the others, so I just group those together by prequels/sequels and throw them in somewhere. XDX

    SS -> Minish cap -> OoT -> WW/PH -> ST
                            -> MM    -> TP

    I think the tie-breaker would be Skyward Sword, but it's possible the Picori Blade (Four Sword) later became the Skyward/Master Sword. But it's pretty definitive that both SS and TMC occur early in the timeline.

    Minish Cap -> Four Swords -> Four Swords Adventures -> Skyward sword -> Ocarina of Time: Adult Timeline -> Wind Waker -> Phantom Hour Glass -> Spirit Tracks
    Ocarina of Time: Child Timeline -> Majora's Mask -> Twilight Princess
    These are the ones that may happen between OoT and WW/TP in either timeline:
    Link to the Past
    Zelda I and II
    Link's Awakening
    Oracle of Ages/Seasons

    I think Zelda I and II, and LttP happened in the Adult timeline. Ganon was still around, so he may have been revived after OoT, in the reality where Zelda didn't send Link to his childhood and they warned the sages about Ganondorf and got him arrested and then TP happened.

    He was brought back in LttP, defeated, revived again in Zelda one, defeated, and was almost revived in Zelda II. It's possible that he returned in WW after he was revived yet again because the Zelda II Link had to have died at some point, like from natural causes or old age. Then he was finally defeated, possibly for the last time, in WW. I'm not sure if he can ever make a come back.

    —> = ages later

    SS —> OoT
    Adult: OoT —> WW-PH —> ST
    Child: OoT-MM —> TP
    The following two could occur in either timeline, but it is not known which they are both or each in
    OoT —> ALttP-OoX-LA —> LoZ-AoL
    MC —> FS-FSA
