I have a story from events that occurred today and I didn't really know where to put it so I figured I'd just make a general discussion thread. (This story contains some pretty harsh language so read with digression) So today my history professor told us that she was....well let's say verbally assaulted in class yesterday by a homophobic student. She had been mentioning this sort of rise of homophobia during the Progressive Era, and because she feels that homophobic points of views are flawed, that student called her a "fag lover." That same student also felt her lectures were racist against whites because of her style of being honest. She doesn't sugar coat her lectures. Apparently, this irate student had also been harassing a gay student who was in that class. My teacher had him expelled from the class, and she gave us a short lecture on bullying and how she doesn't tolerate it in any way, shape, or form. It's this and many other reasons that I really love my history professor.
