This group was conceptualized from a Poll on Gamefaqs. The Poll's question was "What is your secret gaming shame" and one of the options was, "I am an adult but I still love to play Pokemon". I see this as nothing to be ashamed of. Pokemon is an excellent game series that is enjoyed by MILLIONS of people.
Why should I be ashamed to play a GOOD game?
Personally, I agree with you. There is no reason to be ashamed of playing Pokemon games. I have played them since I was a child, and they continue to be entertaining every time I play them. Each time I get a new game, I relive the experience of searching for the Pokemon I want to raise and training them to be the best that they can be. I enjoy battling them, even though I pretty much always lose when battling other players. And they're very easy to pick back up if you have to quit for a while. You can just jump right back in and keep playing.
Grew up with Pokemon and still love it as much as I loved it when I was five years old...TOTAL OBSESSION!!!!
I was in my 20s when the games first hit. I was an adult when I started playing and I loved it from the get-go. I am not ashamed to admit that I adore Pokemon.
Oh. Accidentally found this and I had to join. Though looks like there's not much recent activity. But I don't mind.
I'm 26 and I'm playing Pokémon since 14. Actually, I think I became more fan in my adulthood; while I was a teenager, Pokémon was just another nice game. Interestingly, I have a lot of friends of my age, that play Pokémon too. And HG/SS brought back many of them who already left. Enough to even continue to Gen V.
For me, the best part of being an adult and playing Pokémon, is the generational link with my nephews. My two sisters have given me a total of 4 nephews and a niece, the three older (9, 7, and 5 1/2 years old) like Pokémon and other games like Mario. They play Pokémon on the Wii or on the DS (the older has his own DS, the other two often borrow my 3DS. They take good care of it, however). They like playing Pokémon between them and with me, and often ask me things. I guess I'm sort of Professor Oak for them. The younger ones are too small to play videogames (the youngest is a year and a half old, and my only niece is near 2), but I won't be surprised if their brothers/cousins introduce them to Pokémon as well.
Oh, I was extending me a lot. I think I should post this into my blog. xD
I've been into Pokemon since age 7 (well, that's when I actually got into it, so to speak). I'm 20 now, I'm still a diehard Pokefan, and I'm not the least bit ashamed of it.
My bro got me interested in the series, yet it wasn't until a few years ago that I was really hooked. Now, it's one of my favorite franchises, and I'm 22. There are some students who go to my college who enjoy Pokémon as well. Heck, one of them admits his love for the series in his StreetPass greeting. XD
I started when I was 7(when the games came out) and even now I enjoy the games as well as look forward to the new things when they come out.
I've been into it since I was 8ish. But I was prevented from getting the games and watching the Series when i was a kid, although I was still allowed the Cards. Now, at 18, I am on Series 6 of the Anime, Have every Game Generation, and proudly write a Pokémon Fan-Fic :)
I am 46 years old, technically an adult, but I spend more time playing video games than my almost 10 year old son and almost 14 year old daughter.
I used to have a great social group on Smogon, but now they are gone.
I love to battle OU and Little cup (if you guys use tiers here)
