It has only been a few days since the announcement of Pottermore and fans have reacted with mixed feelings, but generally positive overall. Basically from what I gather, it will be an online social community for Potter fans somewhat like Facebook or GaiaOnline.
At the same time though, it will be like an interactive game where you will be put into a House based on some questions you will have to answer. If you get chosen to be in any House aside from Gryffindor, then you will slightly deviate away from the main story that follows Harry. Basically, you will view the story from the point of view of a Slytherin, Hufflepuff, or Ravenclaw.
The point of Pottermore is for J.K. Rowling to give fans of the series more details on the characters or events or any other tidbits that were touched upon in the novels but not fully explored throughout.
So, personally, I am super excited for this! And I have already submit my email to receive notification of when it opens officially. However, a few lucky fans will have the opportunity to begin using Pottermore before it opens to the public. More details on how you can join early will be revealed on July 31.
Pottermore is set to open in October and is a collaborative project between Rowling, Warner Bros. Entertainment, and Sony make.believe
