All of us can't wait till Platinum comes out. Wouldn't it of been better if it came out before it came out in America?

It would be better but won't ever happen.

Could always import Platinum as I think I read that the DS isn't region specific.

Oh well, it will be worth the wait.

That would be so cool.....what if america+japan had an argument over somethin and america said-
"well if ur going to be like that then we'll send all our pokemon stuff to BRITAIN before YOU!!!
    that'll teach america a lesson......HAH!!
Too bad its all in my head....(I have an active imagination)

Well, on Bulbapedia they said the DSi was coming out in Europe before USA, so I suppose that's a start.

We got Mario Kart Wii before the US and Australia, but just about everything else reaches America first. It doesn't make any sense. They don't have to translate all the text (although they should do - we want English English, not American English!), and DS games aren't region locked so they don't need to make PAL version or anything. Makes you wonder what the localisation team are doing in the two months between the US release and the UK release...

America are probaly doing that on purpose, to lenghthen the suspence. I understand how long it takes to translate the japanese version, because if one of us was playing it, we would think it was from the planet Turkey.

Its because PAL is not just UK but Europe so they have to translate the instructions into all the various other langs - also (I'm not sure if this is done on Pokemon) but the in game text would also need to be translated if they if you can play the game in, say German or French.

Personally I wouldn't mind the American/English if the games came out at the same time as the US!! Oh well 1 month to go

Minor bump (if it counts here).

Quite a few games have been having seperate translations for the EU and USA recently, leading to two English language versions being developed for certain games. The result being, much shorter waiting periods between EU and US releases.

For example, the latest Advance Wars game: Dark Conflict (EU)/Days of Ruin (US). The UK edition used (mostly) UK English and had a more accurate translation of the Japanese edition of the game. Only thing was, the name translations weren't the same in DC as they were in DoR, which lead to some annoyance (mostly from the US gamers, funnily enough - how dare the Britfags have a better quality translation than us grr).
