Yeah, my mom told me looking back she probably should have told me when it happened.
I got diagnosed in pre-school. I had trouble peddling a tricycle, so my mom brought it to a doctor's attention. But, I didn't find out until 4th grade.
That's kind of an odd way to find out, or to suspect anything was up. Were you specifically tested for autism or neurological things in general?
Although that's odd, I had trouble with bikes too. Although mine was a balance issue more than anything.
I was diagnosed when I was like 16. It's tough sometimes, but it's part of me. It's taken me literally the last couple of years to find the right medication. I kind of feel like a lab guinea pig, and I'm been depressed for the last year or so. I'll be okay, though.
On a side note, it's nice to meet people who are going through the same thing. I hope I can get to know all of you. =)
Yeah, so anyone want to talk about it?
I think I was diagnosed when I was about 10/11.
I was too old to get social skills training. ;___;
You weren't too old. I was like 14/15 when I was diagnosed. It's hard, but I can talk to people.
I can talk to my brother's friends.
I get nervous when I talk to people in public though.
I know just what you mean. It's hard. You feel so self-conscious.
Yeah, true. It's like: "Ahhh, they're not gonna like me, they're not gonna like me..." And then you just get over it, and talk to them.
I need to take my own advice.
