Before anyone starts talking about anything: I am not seeking to condemn all competitive battlers, despite the icon of this group. Heck, competitive battlers are welcome to join this group. I only despise the ones that take a condescending attitude towards anyone who doesn't play like them. And whatever you do, don't try to be too condescending back. That is all.

Even though most of the people who play Pokemon are kids who don't know anything about EV traning. I haven't ev trained or iv breeded due to lack of time. And even the offical (the VGC, not "smogon offical") rules don't say you must ev train/iv breed.
screw it, i've ev trained, but i prefer straight up, classic battling over EV'd IV'd smogonised battling any day of the week, i love this group!

Smogon battling is like Pro Gaming. It just isn't as fun. I just wish wifi battling was like real life, where you had the fun of pwning random people in real life, no EV training and stuff.

The B/W random match may be a more classic match type situation. I am sure there will be people with EV'd/IV'd pokemon (i'm going to try, i won't lie) but i guarantee there will be casual battlers who you go up against who are just seeing how they match up "against the world".
I like to EV train my Pokemon because it makes them the best they can be. I do however dislike Smogon a lot. The items make EV training a lot faster and easier. The concept of EV training amuses me. I tend to not care about IV's. I hate that it all depends on the fact if RNG wants to cooperate with you. I wish IV's didn't exist and every Pokemon had stats as if they had 31 IV's. All you would have to do is EV train after that.
Nintendo itself didn't want IV and EV training,they changed the original concept with time to make it harder,why?i guess it's because they realized that some jerks would succed in understanding the system and would become its bitches and turn into an arrogant jerk that nobody lieks
