    (Apparently, it's belong to this thread)

    We all know how "serious" Butch/Cassidy evolved to "funny" Jessie/James-like characters. Is the opposite happening now? Are they evolving into serious Butch/Cassidy-like characters?

    Cassidy = Jessie
    Butch = James
    Dr. Namba = Dr. Zager

    Will they rid Meowth, like what happened to B/C's Raticate? Any thoughts?

    I don't think the Nyasu question can really be answered until we see how the writers handle the whole Nyagotiator plotline. If it's brought up again in later episodes then yeah, Nyasu might eventually leave the trio and Musashi and Kojirou will be more like Yamato and Kosaburou. But I can just as easily see the writers just acting like the whole thing never happened and going back to the status quo. It could go either way at this point.

    Back when BW was new and Team Rocket's angle was being played as new and exciting, I was actually in favor of BW's Team Rocket. They seemed mysterious, cunning, and all those other nice things.

    Now, I'm eating crow. Bitter, bland, emotionless crow.

    I hate to be a Chatot, but I pretty much have to agree with Dogasu and everything he's said on this. Team Rocket hasn't improved. They've... deproved.

    Team Rocket in DP:

    Oh, it's just Team Rocket - YouTube

    Yeah yeah, they go through some development(another break up and reuninion) only to treat it as if it never happened again in future episodes.

    Team Rocket in BW:

    Now tell me that's not personality and them just showing off their awesomeness.

    If you like TR being goofy in every episode, go for DP TR. If you like them not being goofy and just doing their jobs then go for BW TR:

    It entertains me somehow.

    Dogasu, I've watched an hour long video of Team Rocket doing their mission stuff from episode 1 to 23 and I didn't cross my mind that it was boring watching them. Flint has the personality of being slick, calm, serious and happy to see the job being done. I view a villian as somebody intimidating. Not once in DP have Team Rocket looked like a threat. I know it was the writer's aim, but using the same personalities doing the same things every single episode is boring. I bet you're going to bring on how TR doing their jobs is boring. It's for like, 20 seconds and what they do is cool! It was one of the wishes I wished for Best Wishes. A serious, entertaining Team Rocket. I got that. If you can't find them entertaining, I'm sorry, that's you. I seriously doubt you sleep for every evil thing Team Rocket does. I was wowed at how Team Rocket stole things. How they handled the things while still looking cool. Having a personality doesn't necessarily mean somebody having to be goofy or do idiotic things. The perfect example of somebody not having a personality is Takeshi. He cooks, is caring and tells the obvious to Satoshi and that's it. He isn't a character that makes you raise an eyebrow for the things he does. Team Rockets are eyebrow raisers. It still falls down to opinion so I won't mind if you don't agree with me. I wouldn't be watching Best Wishes if Team Rocket acted the same. They still blast off. What they blast off with isn't much different but at least they won't be annoying while doing it.

    Flint manages to be even more boring than Best Wishes Musashi and Kojirou.

    The Rocket trio in Diamond & Pearl were comic relief villains, just like they were in all the other series up until that point. They weren't *supposed* to be intimidating.

    I think that's a problem a lot of the fans of the Best Wishes trio had with the way they acted before. They mistakenly thought that the Rocket trio "should" be serious villains and got upset when they failed to fulfill a role they were never created to play. I don't know why so many people seem to have completely misinterpreted who these characters were for the first thirteen years of the franchise.

    The perfect example of somebody not having a personality is Takeshi.
    Takeshi, on his worst day, has tons more personality than Musashi and Kojirou have shown in every one of their appearances in Best Wishes, combined.

    To answer the topic question of "Do you like the Rocket trio's role in best wishes?".

    Not really.

    Personally the only reason I don't like BW team rocket is because I've seen better in other cartoons. I like serious crooks that push the envelope more so than what BW team rocket do.

    When watching BW team rocket I feel underwhelmed because I expect alot more.=/
    As a result I find them quite boring to watch........

    My name is Daffy Duck, I worked on a Merry-Go-Round, The job was swell,
    I did quite well,Till the Merry-go-round broke down.

    Not being comic relief doesn't necessarily mean not having a personality. Flint is meant to be mysterious and the writers succeeded in that. It's only your opinion and I'm not going to change it. TR change is the best change to me and to you it's the worst.

    Personally, I wish the TRio was replaced by a group of Team Plasma grunts, but since we will most likely never see Team Plasma in the anime (show TR vs. TP already damnit!), we're stuck with the TRio...

    Uhh, no TR is not really doing anything. I feel like they're being used by Giovanni. But, I may be wrong, but I doubt it

    Yeah, that's the only reason I can think of for Sakaki giving them that bullshit promotion in the first place. He's totally using them.

    Well, it was their dumb luck that allowed them to stumble into the plans of Magma, Aqua, and Galactic. Even if they really didn't do anything to them (like Giovanni would believe that JJM were the ones that beat Cyrus?) He probably intends to have our trio ferret out Plasma so he can assess their strengths, weaknesses, and capabilities, so that Team Rocket can actually fight them. Right now, it's just shadow boxing.

    I don't see why they can't be more competent and still show some slight more emotion.

    Meowth was handled perfectly in BW. He's serious when he needs to be but he's still the same Meowth. Even before he joined with Ash and co, we saw him paint himself as an Umbreon and try to steal Pikachu like usual.

    Nyasu has been handled the best out of the trio in Best Wishes, but there are still those moments where he's just as dull and uninteresting as his teammates. The way he's been handled has been far from "perfect."
