Thread: X & Y Compatibility with B & W

Do you think there will be a way to get your pokemon over to x and y from your gen IV (D,P, PL, HG,SS) and gen V(B,W, B2, W2) DS games because i hope so or my female level 56 turtwig on platinum is going to get very lonely.

There will most likely be a way. GameFreak know how fans hated not being able to send their Gen II Pokémon over to Gen III, so ever since they have maintained backwards compatibility.

In a way, I hope they do make that feature available... It would be awesome to travel around with my old Pokes from past games and battle in full 3D. But then again, if they had no compatibility it would be fun starting from scratch... It would cause somewhat of an uproar though...

I am hoping they find some way to do it by just using one 3DS console, for example, putting in Black and wanting to transfer 6 Pokes, you then save them onto the 3DS somehow, take Black out and then put X/Y in and you're able to transfer data? It would be so much easier than messing around with 2 consoles...

Anyway, there will definitely be a way. I just hope they'll make it possible to do it on one console.

Of course there will they dont want another fanboy/girl meltdown people boycotting the gen and game cause they cant let go... some people still hate gen 3 cause they couldent transfer thier pokemon

Im more intresed in trasnfering pokemon OUT of the game and in to the DS i doubt this will happen but i will be annoyed if you cant.. well probably asuming i like the gen 6 pokemon.

I don't bring any pokemon at all...except I'll bring my five shinies off my White 2, only because...well their shiny. They better make it either...

A) Only need a 3DS
B) Need a 3DS and a DS

If you need two 3DS I'll throw myself into....uhh....running out of ideas here..........into a volcano?

I heard that was unavoidable as is was something to do with the incompatibility of the GBA (or GBA to color) or probably more specifically the link cables speed or something to do with the save file system being different.

I assuming if it does exist it will be after the games tied to the pokedex and will require 2 systems such DS, DS lite, DSi or DSI XL or even the 3dS or 3DS XL holding the older cartridge with a transfer to X or Y in a 3DS or the 3DS XL

Gen VI will probably be compatible with Gen V, but Gen IV definitely won't be directly compatible with Gen VI.

Why do you say that i heard and read there is really no difference between the files except hidden abilities and that really moot point as if i remember right your gen 4 pokes don't have them and they can used in gen 5

I really hope they find a way to use just one 3DS system. I don't still own my other DS games, but I do still own Black 2 and I would like to take my Pokés from there without fumbling with 2 systems. Although, I will if I have to. :)

I would think they would have t make it backwards compatible. Either that or they would have to introduce every legendary pokemon to the Gen VI games as well as every other pokemon ever. There would be no other way to get a complete pokedex...

Why would Gen VI be compatible with Gen IV? It only needs to be compatible with Gen V, and plus, Gen IV and VI aren't even next to each other - it'd be like Gen V being compatible with Gen III. I'm sorry, but Gen IV and VI won't be compatible.

Once again, why does Gen VI need to be compatible with Gen IV again? There is a generation in between, you know.

I definitely think that they'll make it backwards compatible. Since a 3DS can play DS games, I don't see why we wouldn't be able to trade Pokemon from the DS games. It might not be early on in the game, but I imagine that we will be able to trade over Pokemon from the last two generations at some point.

Why would Gen VI be compatible with Gen IV? It only needs to be compatible with Gen V, and plus, Gen IV and VI aren't even next to each other - it'd be like Gen V being compatible with Gen III. I'm sorry, but Gen IV and VI won't be compatible.

For a complete pokedex. Take Zapdos for example, you would have to transfer it from a gen IV game to a gen V game to a gen VI game to get a complete pokedex. Or they could make it compatible with all the DS games (gen IV and V) and not have to worry about doing double transfers. That is if those pokemon are not included in the new gen VI game. Full compatibility would be best.

What's so difficult about transferring a Pokemon from Gen IV, to V, to VI? Yeah, it'd take about five minutes, but's what so bad about that? Before B2W2 were released, to get the Regis, I had to transfer them from Emerald to Platinum to Black, but it's not like it's impossible.
