That be great, domesticated pets as starters!! I would love a water cat instead.
I completely agree with this but the only thing that kept me from posting that was that we would then have to have a fire dog or a fire bird which have both been done before!! I guess that the typing doesn't matter as much to me as does the fact that they are your domestic pet companion, just to make it a bit closer to real life ya know?

A British English translation wouldn't go amiss. A bit superfluous I admit but if they employ a guy to makes sure things like colour are spelt correctly that would be nice. LoZ Spirit Tracks actually had separate translations European English/Spanish/French and North American English/Spanish/French. I always thought that it was a bit of waste of time and money and made interacting with American fandom about the game online a bit confusing. As I say colour being spelt correctly would be appreciated, but it doesn't really bother me that much (unlike the date format).
    *hugs you*

I want this so much. I even emailed TPCi years ago asking if BW's script changer option can be used in the English versions of BW to swap between UK English and US English. After all, we have to wait longer than America, but the only difference in our games seems to be the code on the sticker.

I don't quite understand, what's wrong with the American English being used universally?

Because some countries don't use it? That's a good enough reason right there. But what if it were British English being used in your American games? I'm sure you'd have something to say then.

The games aren't American, they're Japanese XD

It just seems kinda frivolous....I just don't see the point.

He means your American-translated game, I'm sure you know that.

And well, you don't see it, but it doesn't mean it has no point, from the point of view of a british fan, using ''Colour'' and ''Mum'' is NOT just a letter change, it's a whole cultural process that is ignored when games have no british translation, and it's not just in words too, the MM/DD/YYYY is also pretty jarring and confusing for prople, who, like me, grew up using DD/MM/YYYY

I could definitely see them allowing you to choose the dating system in the future, but from a business standpoint, i just don't see the whole translation ever happening. People in the UK are able to understand the american english, so they wouldn't go through the extra cash of making a separate translation. I'm not saying this because I'm american, i'd still say it if english english was the translation used as well.

Now, if they were to use Britain as a region in the future, I would not be surprised if they make them use the british english instead of american one.

Hope you remembered what I was talking about, about the starter selection.

Here's what else I want in Gen 6: The region should be based on the state of my old Kentucky home and name it "Kentu". The starting point can be based on Central Kentucky, and the Pokemon League is located in what is based on Louisville.

Just remembered - If possible I'd like Shiny customization, so you could choose how your Pokémon looks, they would have predetermined options as colors for each parts, I'd love to make a Red and black colored Serperior, and call it Jafar.

Then allow me to explain it to you because quite frankly it makes TONS OF SENSE. It is based on how we say dates out loud example June Sixth the year is tacked on at the end because it is not used all the time it isn't really in out of order because it nots suppose to be a math thing (and this is coming from a math guy). It is based on how descriptor words are used in English (at least American English) red truck Superman bubblebeam thunderbolt Super Sonic Dr. Wiley CrabHammer. In Spanish DD/MM/YYYY makes sense but in English not really.

Think about of the year like a subtitle. BlankBlank:Blank.

And that is why MM/DD/YYYY is the way it is.

Anyways I want my IV raising berry and more new type combos

I really have to agree with Serperior here, as I think that the only change made in ANY game for the british versions was the swearing used by a Team Galactic grunt in pastoria city, because it was classed as too 'mature' for the british, and I get too ticked off because of that. We have a word removed, yet an entire country's culture is removed because they believe that American-English is 'Standard' in any english speaking country!

FYI - British people are more likely to say "6th of June"

Date format by country - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Scroll down to the map - USA and Belize the only countries that uses MM/DD/YYYY exclusively (other countries like Canada seem to use a mix). But DD/MM/YYYY is BY FAR the most common date format used around the world. Now I don't have a problem if Americans wanna do it differently, but I don't wanna be forced to use their system, which I find confusing, when adding an option to choose the layout is so easy.

I just have to say briefly on the whole topic of date format -

It baffles me as to why anyone would have a problem with being able to choose your preferred date format in-game. What exactly is the issue?

I'm British, and @Serperior; is correct. For me, the U.S format is totally jarring (By the way, @Wyvernphlare; We understand the process behind the U.S format - there's no need for the rather condescending ''allow me to explain it to you.''

Anyway, all I'm saying is that to have any sort of problem with Game Freak introducing the option to change date format is, quite frankly, dictatorial.

In Gen VI, I'll be happy regardless of whether we are in a new region or in Hoenn - as long as Oak makes a return and they have some more rewards for a completed National Dex. That was a welcome, and overdue, addition in Black/White 2.

As for the British/American English thing... what's the point? it'd be a waste of time... besides a few slang and grammer and spellings (what's with you guys and the unnecessary vowels? Colour just looks weird...) they're the same language... and I don't get why MM/DD/YY is so hard to understand.... Besides if the Gen VI region is also based on America it would make no sense for them to usw British English

This is probably a silly thing to wish for, but I want the gen 6 Pokemon to be as simple as the gen 1 and 2 Pokemon. I liked that in gen 1 you had the trio legendaries, Mewtwo as the one big obtainable legendary, and then Mew as the "secret" Pokemon. Gen 2 followed the same way but added two main legendaries, Lugia and Ho-Oh, with Celebi as the "secret" (or "unobtainable", however you want to think about it) Pokemon. I've been out of the Pokemon scene for awhile so apologies if I'm wrong, but it seems like the later generations have been adding in tons of "legendaries" and "unobtainables" (ya know, those Pokemon that you can only get through an event). For me, adding a ton of legendaries makes them less special.
