Thread: What do you want in Gen 6?

Just like Gen V I want more theme pokemon. (Hero has dragons and samurai pokemon, etc)
But like BW2 I want all pokemon to be mixed in.
I want more multiplayer ability.
Like what they did with Platinum and the play area.
That was a fun idea, but I think more of that would be much more interesting.
Pokemon Following, of course.
That is such a fun idea!
Bringing back the rematch ability.
As for other games in it, I want to see a multi region side game.
Or full 3d with tales of symphonia/Spectrobes style fighting.
Tales of Specifically since, in my opinion, they perfected action-rpg game play.
Pokemon snap 2.

Pokemon =/= Tales of Symphonia

What I mean is, despite being remotely similar to each in terms of being RPGs; Pokemon is not anything like Tales of Symphonia. Especially, with the battle system.

What I want? Hmm...

All I really want is a much larger world to explore. Sometimes I feel like the Unova region is too small...

I think that there should be something like a cross between the Pokegear, C-Gear, Pokedex, Pokenav, Poketch and X-Tranceiver.

-Fully customizable player character. So far the only real customization is choice of gender. How about choosing the clothes, hair, and skin color as well?
-Return of contests. Sure, musical and Pokéstar are great and all, but...
-For the Fire starter, the secondary type should NOT be fighting. We already got three in a row; don't make it four.

I'm sure some have been already mentioned, and it will take me too long to read every post in 125 pages....

• Contest; really enjoyed them in Ruby/Sapphire, to make them more like they did in the anime.... show off first (like Ruby/Sapphire) and a battle contest afterwards with time limits.
• Able to change clothing
• Pokemon follows you, option to change it on/off (especially for those who don't like them)
• A slightly different story line from the typical "collecting 8 badges, battling Elite 4, battling champion - win"

Personally for me; I like water types because of the move surf, and I like cats, so far no cat-like Pokemon has been a water type so "Water-Type Cat-based Pokemon"

Gameplay Mechanics:
I actually think now the Pokemon walking with you in HG/SS was just a nostalgia based thing so it may not actually come back.

I don't think character customization could work. Aside from the completely unrelated issue of translation problems (citing the inability to name characters in Final Fantasy XII), it would create problems with creating official artwork for the player character. Creating so many variants is just a waste of time and resources.

I agree on the world being more open ended, but not by a whole lot. The wild Pokemon should definitively be close to your average party level, or actually somewhat below.

Secret Bases:
Considering Black & White seemed to be a return to the bare mechanics (while vastly improving on them), secret bases may make a return in Gen VI.

Evolutions:
I don't agree on an evo for Parasect. By the time the fungi fully invades the Paras, it's pretty much almost dead. Okay not "dead" dead, but brain-dead I think. A further evo would be too creepy, and some of the Pokedex entries (especially for Ghost type Pokemon) are creepy enough as it is. Don't get me started about Chandelure's entries, Duskull's Emerald entry, and Dusknoir's D/P entry.

I don't want an evo for Farfetch'd. It's design is what made it unique among the first 151 Pokemon.

Specifics:
@TerraWolf: I don't think the Gen V Pokemon designs weren't very weak. They seemed alot more original than previous generations, in terms of borrowing from other cultures. They also recycled alot of the ideas. You can claim that the two "ice cream cone" and "trash bag" Pokemon are bad design, but that's only two. Besides...Trubbish may be the "new Koffing", so to speak. They share similar themes of pollution creating artificial Pokemon, with Koffing being air pollution and Trubbish being land pollution.

@Stuntology: Yeah, most of the Pokemon cries for Gen I-Gen II Pokemon onward sounds too much like 16-bit audio quality. It be nice if they sounded like actual animals, if only by abit.

@Denki Wolf: I don't think Pokemon Snap 2 is actually going to happen. The game didn't actually start out based on Pokemon, and Pokemon was actually added in later on. Some critics even panned the original as being a "cash-in branded title", despite the game being fun. If a sequel is possible, it needs MAJOR improvement.

@ObliviaRangerLuvva: Aside from the Pokedex (it's a staple, will probably still be separate), each navigational/helper tool is unique to it's own generation so it be pointless to merge them when their features are so similar.

@PersianTrainer: Isn't Vaporeon kind of feline like, aside from being cetacean and mermaid like? On the subject of Eevee's evolutions, they all share a feline like appearance.

You're right. Scratch the Phoenix and Swan. The fire-type starter would also be an electric-type based on a hedgehog, and the water-type would also be a fighting-type based on a frog's life cycle, like the Poliwag family.

Sorry, but for me Vaporeon doesn't look anything like a cat at all. Eeveelutions look more fox-like to me.

I agree that eeveelutions are fox like. I think the three starters should be based on domestic pets. A fire cat, a water dog, and a grass bird (non flying type)? Maybe switch those up a little bit because I would like something other than Water/Fire/Grass as starters.

Yeah, I made up an Eeveelution (my avatar) and it looks nothing like a feline. Even the dragon one I made on Paint looks nothing Feline, and I agree with the idea of starters based on domestic animals.

Not exactly. Dark isn't affected by Psychic attacks, so the Psychic starter would be at a disadvantage

The chain actually works:

Psychic is strong against Fighting but weak against Dark
Fighting is strong against Dark but weak against Psychic
Dark is strong against Psychic but weak against Fighting

So no one has more advatage over the other

Psychic would be at disadvantage because it just can't hit Dark.

That be great, domesticated pets as starters!! I would love a water cat instead.

A water cat would actually work since all of our water starters are capable of walking on land.

Well, add in the BIRD type (missing no. has this type), a more complex gameplay, and a better anime story (if it continues).
