Original pokemon and not too any of them...
This please. And also include the original national dex order so that people can't complain about being confused by the new numbering or anything like that. This means you have two national dex orders and three dex orders total per game, but it'd be a lot more useful, really.
LOTS OF NEW 'MONS, a character with customizable clothing, designable Musical/Contest accessories, Optional walking pokémon mechanic, new and creative HM and field moves, harder battles, a giant region, old charracters reappearing...
Bump up the difficulty, and also give the series a deeper plot. If the game is going to be hard, IMO, it might as well have a good plot too.
Also, some character customization, more freedom to explore, and some good designs. Oh, and a far improved online system with matchmaking, voice chat, and no more FCs.
Or at least make the FC optional. I mean if you select that option in your game or system it should be your responsibility to monitor who talks to you right? I'm tired of all this "PROTECT THE INNOCENT CHILDREN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I understand the point but it's up to you and the parents to monitor the kids, it shouldn't be Nintendo's job to be the nanny.
That's what parental controls are for. XBL has privacy options that let you turn off everything from voice chat, to if others can see you online or what games you are playing, and you can set console parental controls that lock out M rated games with certain things, that can be overrode with a passcode.
Right but Nintendo has yet to adopt such a policy and I wish they would.
I'd want Hilbert(And I guess Hilda too), Cheren, Bianca, and N to come back. I know that won't happen, but still.
Where this is nothing in stone that states that as it's not possible that any of them might make a small appearance in a future game. I believe in almost every game there is at least one character that makes a cameo. It could be a simple flashback even, I suppose it depends on the writer and what they want for the story.
Only problem with that is the Dex numbering. It's a bit late for them to just decide that there was only 150 Pokemon in the first gen. All the Dex numbers you remember (Mewtwo at 150, Mew at 151, Arceus at 493, etc) would be lowered one. That would probably piss a lot of people off.
Well, I actually have a boatload of ideas in my mind, so I'll try to put a couple of them down in an alright manner:
1: Smartphone-like communication device in-game (combining Pokédex, C-Gear, Pokétch, Pokémart/PC, etc.)
The new Pokédex would have much more features than ever before. This device would provide many or all of the functions of the Pokémon Center/Pokémart, for instance. The ability to organize one's Pokébox; the ability to buy items as one needs them (perhaps a delay in receiving the items, or an extra charge for using the Instant Buy function); the ability to have one's Pokémon healed, though at a considerably lower rate, on the go. Not only that, but this would provide many of the features of the Pokétch (apps, town map, that sort of stuff), as well as of the C-Gear and Xtransceiver. The function of this device would vary based on location, due to cell towers not being everywhere in the Pokémon world; this way, trainers could be barred from using the shopping or healing functions in Gyms or the Pokémon League.

2: Frontier-Like Pokémon Region
No, no, not like the American West! What I mean is that the Pokémon region of the next generation would be in the process of settlement. You are settling with your parents, who are assigned to become the region's Pokémon Professors, in this new land, and your parents are in charge of surveying the region and its settlements in order to do so. Naturally, they bring you and your friends along; this means you're not travelling by yourself, unlike previous generations. There would be wide areas of unsettled land, and the settlements that are there would widely differ (a Bohemian Hippie-style settlement, religious-like settlement in the style of the Pilgrims and Puritans, even a camp operated by another region's crime organization). The unsettled land would eventually decrease, and the different settlements would start to merge together in style and feel, as you progress in the game.

I hope I explained these two ideas in a somewhat coherent manner, though I'm sort-of doubtful about that. :P
Is there gonna be another speculation contest here when Gen VI is imminent? I almost won something in the last one, so I'd love a second chance.
Anyway, most of the things I want have been said. Optional walking Pokemon, customisable player characters, that sort of thing. Two regions in one game would be cool (a game with all regions will probably never happen), or one with a small add on region like the Sevii Islands (but better than them).
As always, I'd love a region based on New Zealand, along with Pokemon based on tuataras and kiwis. Just imagine, travelling to your real life hometown in a Pokemon game! <3 And they might even have buildings I recognize (such as the Sky Tower in Auckland or maybe even the Water Tower in Invercargill)!
I want the ability to see egg groups on the pokedex. And have an evolution page where you could go to the Pokemons Evos, this would be helpful in Natl Dex
We've had trains, subways, ships, and (though you never battled in them) cars/trucks, and even a submarine. I want to have a system of airplanes, that once you get on, it takes a while to go to the destinations is from where you start. And let the player explore it and battle other trainers in the plane. Since this is a video game, make the plane un-realistic, like don't make it the typical plane with just a lot of rows of seats, make it have an complex design, like planes such as Air Force One, with a large room where some VERY rich person can stay, have a 'normal' person area that looks like a normal Coach Class section, and even have a section that looks like a cargo plane. Of Course, you can see the inside of the cockpit, but a police officer would block the path to the pilot (as they are busy). Or to make things interesting, have TWO planes, and make it like the Subway system of Unova. Have, at the airports, at the place where you buy tickets, a choice between an easier and harder plane. Give the easier plane choice the plane I just described (it will look like a Boeing), and the harder one would be similar to what I described, but like one of those HUGE Airbus style planes, and, instead of a Coach Section, there is a First-Class section. And make ALL the trainers much tougher.
Of course this will require there to be a VERY VERY LARGE Region, or two LARGE Regions, to make the plane ride more practical.
Then, as just an idea, have a helicopter service in the region/regions that will let you tour either the largest city's landmarks (this will require a city that is so big, it would make Castelia look TINY), landmarks all over the region(s), or all the Cities'/Towns' skylines. (seeing as how cool Black and White's Castelia City looked from that ship you could ride, I would like to see the places from above [you know, from farther away, where you can see a LOT]) or, seeing as how Gen VI will probably be on the 3DS, you can ride in the helicopter and use that feature (can't remember the name of it) that lets you move the actual device to see from different angles on-screen) to get different views from the helicopter [EX: holding the system to the right will show you a view from the right side of the helicopter, holding it to the left will show the left side, etc].
