* Only 1 team per each version, with the other team completely absent from the other. However, I was thinking you could perhaps run into the opposite Team Leader in the version that their team doesn't appear in, but they wouldn't be "evil", instead they'd muse about how if so-and-so event didn't happen, they may have resorted to more extreme measures aka the reality in the opposite version.
* Each team would have their own unique leader and admin, but the grunts would be the same across both versions, as they'd simply be hired muscle. As for what they'd do, an idea I had was each team would have a different view on human evolution...one would want humans to evolve and leave the earth for space, the other feels humanity has become too reliant on technology and wants to "reset" human evolution, returning to a pre-Industrial society. Furthermore the idea I had was that their bases would differ as well, with the space-guy having a base in space via space-elevator, the next step for life, whereas the earth-guy would have an underwater base, since life originated there we believe. But I don't think this idea will come to fruition since Xerneas and Yveltal don't really seem to strike me as representing a technology vs. nature dichotomy.
technology vs. nature dichotomy like the previous post would be a great idea. However I'd take it further if previous speculation is accurate. We should have 2 good/bad teams. Thus if the north is mountainous and the South coastal. They oppose each other thus there is no real good/bad like the one Nature dichotomy want to impose there believes on the Technology dichotomy from the other region. Obviously the people of the region do not support them but these bad teams. The teams just do not care for the people and just burns bridges for example linking the 2 regions.
For the different games X & Y. It would be a lot of work for GF however I would argue the two teams and accompanied area characteristics nature friendly or technology driven should change places in the two games. Then in the platinum version should be a squeal like in B/W 2.

The idea of a science/technology-based team came to mind, which can contrast the environment-based teams of Ruby/Sapphire which may have a remake in the gen. Problem is that Team Plasma in B2/W2 was basically that already.
I'm not very keen on a battle of the sexes; seems rather shallow and I don't really see a real purpose for that. It's something that can easily devolve into simple stereotypes.
Whatever they do, I hope there's going to be a bit more variety in the grunt Pokémon.
Some people already stated the idea of an all male team and all female team. So, if someone like the N of the new region were to appear, what happens? Is he/she a transvestite or something?

Nope? Well, that's probably because creating evil teams' whose identity rests on their race/gender is a very bad idea that would lead to tons of problems.

How about an invading force from a rival region? I mean, no offense to any French members here, but you guys got invaded a lot. Wouldn't it be cool to get to play a character who got to repel the invaders and kick their ass back to wherever they came from?
