Re: Pokemon X and Y: Villain Team(s) Speculation
A lot of people say that X/Y is probably about chromosomes and DNA and genetics and whatnot, but.... what about the X/Y axis on a grid?
X= horizontal; deer running on land
Y= vertical; bird flying through the air
For the third version they could do Z, which is diagonal. Not sure what that might turn out to be, but still. We could all be getting it extremely wrong.

Umm... Z is a slider. It moves through alternate dimensions. Or something.

Gen. 6 version of Giratina~
For a team, that could really change things. X could be focused more on land stuff, Y on the skies. If it were to be Z, yeah, maybe dimension stuff.
Re: Pokemon X and Y: Villain Team(s) Speculation
TEAM A : Misson rid the world of Ys
TEAM B : Misson rid the world of Xs
Each team wheres outfits made out of there repective letters and belives that their choosen letter is the greatest on earth
Can these heros (the player) stop the rival teams A and B and bring peace and equalllity to all the letters in the alphabet ?? you will have to play to find out.
Re: Pokemon X and Y: Villain Team(s) Speculation
I just had a thought: If the Legendary Pokémon are based off of Nordic legends, maybe the villainous team will be based off of the Norsemen/Vikings?
Re: Pokemon X and Y: Villain Team(s) Speculation
I think the games will refer to both axes AND gender, due to the France location, Z, and the double-helix.
The Z Axis usually shows depth btw.
Re: Pokemon X and Y: Villain Team(s) Speculation
Team Omega, based on the visages of various hate groups such as the KKK.

I was thinking something similar, but since this seems to be based in Europe, I was thinking more along the lines of the Nazis. Not exactly a total copy/paste, but something similar. It would fit with the apparent genetics theme.

It would also fit with the "axis" theme in a roundabout way... Unlikely, but my love of punnery compels me to point this out. :P
Re: Pokemon X and Y: Villain Team(s) Speculation
With the titles being Axis related I'm hoping to see 3 bosses, a Hitler based boss, a Stalin based boss and a Mussolini based boss. They all could turn Pokemon into their Slaves and we could be fighting to free the Pokemon

I don't think there were any knights in New York.

Napolean Bonaparte perhaps? haha
That would be interesting, but I don't know if Pokémon would have something that "mature".
Re: Pokemon X and Y: Villain Team(s) Speculation
Arguably, Team Plasma (BW 1) were military since they were Medieval Knights. I'm in favor of a corrupt corporation, which would be something different than the usual villain teams. I just hope they are as epic & controversial as Team Plasma were.

I think horribly misguided is better than straight-up evil for the villain group as a whole. Thats why I'm not particularly fond of Team Rocket, but really enjoyed both Plasma and Galactic.
Speaking of which, I wonder if the former members of any other teams (Rocket,Mag/Aq, Galactic) are present. Maybe an ex-Plasma as well but it feels too soon for that and the game already feels like Unova 3.0 in a sense.
Re: Pokemon X and Y: Villain Team(s) Speculation
Anyone else noticed how the villain's clothing are usually related to the legendary mascots? For BW, they wore medieval inspired clothing since Reshiram and Zekrom are both dragons from ancient time. Dialga and Palkia had a space/time theme so the villains wore space suits...
Not sure what theme these two games will focus on..Science? Maybe lab coats or something.
