Re: Things You Hate About New Generations Approaching
Again the worst of the Genwunners, or on a more mild level, thinking that every new generation makes the last one look better.
For me? Constantly refreshing pages for months waiting for every little bit of information they throw you. This is gonna be a looong wait!!!
Re: Things You Hate About New Generations Approaching
The things that I dislike about new generations or just new games in general is probably the total downers. The people who totally try to ruin your fun by putting the game down and other things of that nature. How they can't let you have fun.
I also dislike how early games are announced because there is the first wave of excitement (When the game is first announced) and then the second wave when the game is about to or does come out. Now don't get me wrong, I am very excited about the new game but it hits you kinda fast.
Another thing that kinda makes me dislike new gens is right before the game comes out, there is the commercials. I pretty much have to leave the room because I get overly excited when I see this content before the actual release of the game.
Re: Things You Hate About New Generations Approaching
I only hate the wait. And this time around, I've decided to avoid ALL spoilers, even the smallest ones. I'll be disappearing soon to avoid spoilers and I'm going to starve myself of all XY info until after I play one because I want to enter my new adventure without knowing hardly anything at all. A completely fresh and new experience with a blind mind. :D So, goodbye everyone, see you in about 10 months!
Re: Things You Hate About New Generations Approaching
Honestly, I hate how they always come before I've played the previous generation to its fullest. Heck, I only have seven badges in white 2.
Re: Things You Hate About New Generations Approaching
My least favorite part is the speculation. Not all speculation, just one, tiny bit:
"OMG WHAT IF THEREZ ROMANCE??!!??!11 WHAT IF U CAN MEET A HOT BISHIE AND DATE HIM?!!?!!11111one IT WOULD BE SO MATUR!!!!elevenone11!!"
No, it wouldn't. Girls are smelly and boys have cooties, and that's the way I like it. It's for kids! Forget the kissing for once and have fun! There's a reason everyone's attractive, anyways.

God, I loved it when I got to ban that topic...
Honestly, the people who make fake coro coro scans. Props to them for skill, but it gets really old and frustrating really fast.
Re: Things You Hate About New Generations Approaching
While there's nothing I actually hate about the new games that I've seen, if they EVER took the route of the anime and made all the 'mons say their names over and over instead of just a sound effect like it is now, it would totally kill the game for me.
Re: Things You Hate About New Generations Approaching
If i have to say anything, it's when they release the tittle when it won't actually be playable for almost a year. I'm not complaining, the waiting is just annoying. I also can't stand it when starters are a little bit of a let down. (But they weren't yet, but i have say. I'm not a huge fan of Froakie.)

Here are some common complaints when a new generation comes out:
The new Pokemon are ugly- Usually, this is a common complaint about the Pokemon designs, often complaining how the designs look "nothing like animals and look more like 'robots'", which is a bit hypocritical since Pokemon were never specifically based on animals alone, but plants, inanimate objects, monsters, mythical creatures, and even a garbage bag, also, I never understood the "robot" complaint, considering there aren't that many robotic Pokemon out there to begin with, but even then, Gen 1 had Magnemite and Porygon, which are robots, so really, it's an invalid argument to begin with.
I've yet to understand why people complain about the newer Pokemon looking robotic. For me, that's a good thing. Hey, some of us like robots so the more, the slagging merrier! (But in all honesty the only real "robotic" looking Pokemon in Gen V was Golurk. And that's what makes Golurk freaking awesome!!)

I know. The "All good things" quote comes to mind but it's still a little sad to know that my favorite Gen has in fact, come to an end. But I won't be putting them away altogether--I'll still be breeding and hitting Wi Fi.

*facepalm*
Gen I had slime (poisonous and non-poisonous), a Poke Ball with a face and magnets. I could go on but I think you get the idea. Every Gen has a clunker or two--Unown and Luvdisc, anyone?--but that doesn't mean the entire Gen sucks, has no originality or that GameFreak is bereft of creativity.
And before you object, I'll go ahead and say it: I didn't like Vanillite. At. All. It freaked me out and I thought it was ridiculous. Then I had to level one up for the Unova Dex and was surprised at how it had grown on me. That goofy ice cream cone brought me around. I was one of its staunchest defenders on Pokememes before my account crapped itself. I am dead serious here.

That would be my biggest complaint. That and the "I know someone who works for the company so I can give you AWESOME INSIDE INFORMATION!!!!111!!" drivel. I get so irritated when someone passes off their BS as fact and posts it everywhere. It makes finding real info difficult at times and it just screams that this sad soul wanted a few spare seconds of attention. No, you're not getting your 15 seconds of fame. You are getting a ban from my web browser when you pull that crap. :disgust:
Also not fond of the English names speculation because so many get upset when their fan name turns out to be wrong. (I'm looking at you Smugleaf Snivy.) Looks like we won't have to deal with that on this Gen.
Re: Things You Hate About New Generations Approaching
"The new mons are ugly" is another one, especially since there are millions of ugly animals in real life. They're original and they look great, in my opinion.
Re: Things You Hate About New Generations Approaching
the new human characters designs
Re: Things You Hate About New Generations Approaching
The agonising wait until the release date which seems to take a lifetime.
Re: Things You Hate About New Generations Approaching
The ridiculous speculation from over-the-top fans.
I can guarantee you that Pokémon X and Y will not let you go to all five (oh, is it six now?) regions. No, you will not catch every single legendary. And NO, you will NOT go to every single region. In fact, you will probably be in ONE region only. …I understand I said it twice, but maybe I should've said it three times for some of the fans to understand. :dumb:
The people complaining about how every Pokémon looks bad/is unoriginal/is horrible.
Shut up for five seconds and understand that it's Pokémon—a kid's game, not some arts gallery. When I was a kid playing Pokémon LeafGreen (gasp, a Gen III'er!), my favorite Pokémon was based off a turtle. And I loved my Beedrill even though he looked just like a bee (big shock there). Personally, I loved the designs of Generation V. Especially the simplest ones! Am I crazy? (Don't answer that.) It's not like Generation I's designs were really that spectacular anyway.
People who complain about how Generation I was the best or that GameFreak should've stuck with the original 151.
I started playing Pokémon with LeafGreen on my GameBoy Advance SP when I was six years old. As a part of the younger end of the forums, I just can't explain why people have this obsessive attachment to Generation I. My closest attachment is Kanto (simply because it was the region I started on), but it's not like I hate every other region after it. I fell in love with Hoenn when I "beat" LeafGreen. I didn't sit there and say "Hoenn sucks because it's not Kanto."
The weird fan-names for Pokémon.
I never liked the name Smugleaf. Sorry everyone. I'd rather go by an official Japanese name than a fan-made English one. Maybe with the international release, we'll get the official names almost immediately so there's no time to develop crazy names.
People complaining about the system the game is on.
As a 3DS owner since release day, I was unhappy that Black 2/White 2 were DS games, since it kind of wastes my 3DS. (I didn't complain in public until know… only my poor 8-year old brother had to hear my complaints. But he agreed since he's a 3DS owner as well.) Now there will probably be a lot of complaints over how the game is on the 3DS. Even though you may not be willing to shell out the money for the new handheld console, GameFreak and Nintendo would like you to. That's why the game is moving up on the console list. (It'd suck if they were still making the games for the original GameBoy, wouldn't it?) Just to throw in some hypocrisy, I'll complain as soon as there's a Wii U version, since I don't have a Wii U.
And now a personal one… New games always seem to appear right as I start the previous game.
I just found the time to start White 2 over Christmas break and I'm moving slowly because of my time constraints. And now there are two new games coming out! Curse you, inner inability to play games when they're just released! Now I have to play faster!!! But I can't stop GF from making games, so I'll just roll with it. (Just to give more perspective, my second play-through of White is only half complete because I started a few months before the release of White 2 and just gave up. And I have a few other half-played games — Emerald, Pearl, Platinum, and Colosseum…)
And now it's 10:30pm where I live and I need to go to sleep so I'm not cranky in the morning. And so my English essay has less grammatical errors than this post.
Edit: Forgot one. Excessive remake speculation.
As much as I love RSE, I don't want to hear about a "possible RS remake." Not when we should be focused on Pokémon X and Y.
Re: Things You Hate About New Generations Approaching
People claiming that this will be the best Pokemon game of all time even though it was just revealed. Hell I'm having trouble trying to keep a grasp on BW2 because its "Oh hey Plasma is in town. You should go grind on Audino's that never show up and fight the Gym Leader first."

Ugh, this. It feels like forever, even if it is only a matter of months. And I am lacking in the patience department. >.<
