Yeah, Brendan and May aren't "abnormal" names, so I can see them sticking with it. Especially with May's popularity thanks to the anime.

I like the musicals, the dancing was so freakin cute!!! Contests were utterly boring to say the least. But I did like the Pokeathlon
Musicals are utterly boring for me because the things you can do is painfully limited. You dress your Pokemon up and thats it really. Super Contests already had that. Musicals are a half-assed effort at replacing the Contests/Super Contests/Pokethlon.
Let's try to steer things back on to RSEmakes. There's a thread in Current Events: B&W to discuss whether or not you like the Musicals.
Contests were Hoenn's thing so it'd seem... odd to me if they were replaced, especially going back to the Pokeathlon or Musicals. If they were to be replaced, it'd probably be an entirely new thing or just another upgrade to the Super Contest, since they were just an update of the original Contests in the first place. (If they do do that, I'd hope they kept the appeal rounds just that way they were in the original RSE with maybe a few changes and not that choose-a-judge style thing which I felt was pretty luck-based.)

i heard about a new pokemon game from my nintendo news on twitter. new game apparently being announced in may.

also this was the link on the post:

could this be ruby/sapphire remix? it might be kind of early for a remake, but it could still be it. or maybe just some spinoffs or something...

I bet the Pokemon game in development is the Wii game, a new Wii Pokemon game has been in development for a while, And its a bit early for a hand held pokemon just yet.
This has probably been said a million times already, but I'd like to see more out-of-gym time for the Gym Leaders, especially the ones without many defining characteristics such as Brawly and Winona. Also for the Hoenn Elite Four. They have some pretty neat designs, but I find them the least memorable E4 because they don't really do anything.
I also prefer that Wallace be the champion for two reasons A) Steven seems more suited as a final boss IMO. It's brought up in-game that while he enjoys battling and is good at it, collecting rare stones is his true passion. So I don't think the title of Champion is something that fits him, and I'd rather have him hang out in Meteor Falls like in Emerald (And be rematchable!!!) B) Wallace has a cape when he's Champion.
The Cape in question is so awesome that in the official art, you can olnly see Wallace's Head and Cape as said cape is completely wrapped around him.
Yeah, I'd like the E4 and Leaders out of their Gyms
Make them more than bosses that we'll never see again (which is what they just are, but at least they'll be bosses that we'll never see again with personalities!)
Perhaps how, like in BW, the Gym Leaders and E4 can have more involvement in the Team Aqua/Magma plot? Like maybe:
Rustoboro Town: How did GF expect a newbie trainer (who is roughly 11 years old) to be able to stand up to criminals to save a Wingull? Perhaps Roxanne helps; after all, she's a teacher, it would fit for her to try and motivate you to stop Magma/Aqua, and perhaps even help you.
Slateport City: Wattson has the New Mauville sub-plot later on, so maybe this time, Brawly goes with you to Slateport to see you off, before having to help you battle Magma/Aqua before heading back to Dewford Island?
Mt. Chimney: Why doesn't Flannery help, when she lives right underneath Mt. Chimney?
Mt. Pyre: Phoebe from the Elite 4? After all, that place is full of Ghost-types.
Lilycove City: Shoal Cave shouts for Glacia.
Magma Hideout: If they decide to use this area from Emerald, perhaps Sidney could help you in it, similar to how Lilycove City in the Sapphire remake would have Glacia?
Mossdeep Space Centre: Well, this is assuming they add it from Emerald. Although Steven helped you in Emerald, perhaps Tate and Liza could also be involved? Maybe they try and stop Team Magma/Aqua but find themselves overwhelmed until you and Steven appear.
Drake should also be found near Meteor Falls, due to Bagon being there and other Dragon-types being just outside. Maybe when you encounter Magma/Aqua there, Drake just happens to be there researching Bagon and comes in with his senior moustache and helps you stop them?

^I like those ideas, and here's how Sidney could perhaps be worked in: Flannery is, in Adventures at least, the newest Hoenn Gym Leader. Maybe she isn't a Gym Leader yet when you start the game, and instead Sydney is. They both help you against Team Magma, and because of that business Sidney gets promoted to Elite Four and Flannery takes over as Gym Leader and you battle her.
I think they will change both may and brendan but the new characters will be based on them, just like in fr lg and hg ss.
********PIKACHU I LOVE U************
What are you talking about?
The only new character was Lyra
Red is still the same Red from Gen I, just a different design
Leaf was going to be in the original games but couldn't because of graphical limitations (or some junk like that)
Ethan is the same from the original
Lyra is the only who isn't the same character (We'll miss you Kris)
I'm pretty sure that Brendan and May won't be replaced (especially not with the Anime's publicity of May)...
