I thought about the same thing, and yeah, I think it would be a really cool idea.
Only problem is that this sort of situation occurred with GS for Game Boy/GBC and BW for DS/DSi, handhelds that shared very similar/upgraded hardware. Being that the 3DS is, for the most part on a different league than the DS/DSi, it may be a less practical idea for that matter.

tbh, after the huge earthquake and tsunami, I wonder if we will get RS remakes in the near future. Sure, there was a One Piece game that was merely delayed, but that had most likely finished (if not, been close to finishing) development. RS remakes wouldn't have been in development for 6 months at most by now. At least, if they were planned for Gen V (Which I doubt, as you'll see in my post on the previous page), I'd expect them to be moved to Gen VI.

I hope it doesn't take as long as 2013 for these to come out, if they do at all.

I was thinking of what Emerald additions I'd like to see return, then I thought of a great idea: Actually use Altering Cave.

If we assume that RS remakes will be on the 3DS, then imagine this:

- When you create your file, the game will randomly assign 1 out of a selection of Pokémon to appear in your Altering Cave.
- When you communicate with another player via StreetPass, the information of which Pokémon appear in your Altering Caves will be exchanged, and you will then be able to encounter that Pokémon as well as your original choice.

For example, if Player A's game is set to Houndour, they can only find Houndour in Altering Cave. Player B's game is set to Mareep, so they can only find Mareep in Altering Cave. The two cross paths, information is exchanged, so both of them can find Houndour and Mareep. Once you have more than one Pokémon, you could also then choose which Pokémon you want to allow other players to encounter.

Well, throw me rocks, but I still think it will be released for both DS and 3DS. 3DS isn't a upgrade for DS, like GBC was for GB, so it makes no sense to release a Generation V game only for the new console.

The same goes to BW's third version. Unless they decide to ignore Generation V and make the remakes in Generation VI.

I'd love to see a new area, such as the Sevii islands in Firered/Leafgreen. I can see why they didn't for SS/HG because there are already two regions, but i think it would be great if there were some more islands, where Gen 1 Pokemon could be caught....it could be based around the Orange Islands?

That's what I think'll happen =3

Plot
-The entire plot should be a sequel to the original games.
-The games should take place 5-7 years after the originals.
-Birch stays as the Pokemon professor, but looks noticeably older.
`Depending on the gender you chose, either Brendan or May will be assistants to Birch.
-Team Magma and Aqua return, and perhaps a new team/person, going after Raquaza.
-The Regis need to get more story, perhaps a new and mysterious character is looking for them.
-There should be something similar to what happened to Cinnabar Island in G/S/C, except maybe with Pacifidlog.
-The Elite 4 gets a revamp, with Watson and Norman entering the Elite 4 and Glacia and Sidney out (perhaps one or both become gym leaders?), and Juan or Wally being the Champion.
-After the game is beaten you should be able to face Wallace and Steven with your rival in a double battle, who, when beat, will give you access to a special island containing either May or Brendan, depending on the gender you chose, with either being the pokemon master.

Hoenn
-Hoenn is fine, but there needs to be more emphasis on islands, perhaps many are unlocked once you beat the game?
-More emphasis needs to be put on undersea Hoenn.
-Like mentioned before, Something has to happen to Pacifidlog to make it have any value.

Pokemon
-The Weather trio need to make a comeback, perhaps they were never actually caught in HGSS?
-If you bring both Latis to a special place you should be able to get the member of the weather trio that you couldn't get in the game.
-Naval Rock needs to comeback, and Deoxys should be an event Pokemon.
-LESS FREAKING TENTACOOL. PUT NEW POKEMON IN THE FREAKING OCEAN.
-Speaking of new pokemon, some should be able to be caught pre-national pokedex.
-New areas and islands after Elite-4 should contain most of the new pokemon.

Aesthetic Changes
-This, imo, was one the best soundtracks in a pokemon game. There should only be remixes, and something like HGSS where old music can be heard again.
-Pokewalker should return, with a wide array of designs (you get the normal pokewalker with the game, but you can buy others with different designs like great balls and dusk balls.)

^^ Those are some very good ideas... I guess if they wanted to continue the "older" feel that Black/White just started then I can actually see that happening. (Older May? GOD YES...)I especially like the idea of Wally/Brendan or May challenging both Steven/Wallace in a double battle.

Hoenn was a good gen imo, it just needs a little improvising and now is the perfect time to do it.

No it's not that was confirmed in the manga but never outside of that.

Anyway I wonder whether the story would be like Emerald's for both of them (Fight both teams) or depending on the version (fight Magma in Ruby/Aqua in Sapphire) Also I'd like to see Secret Bases be more fleshed out I love those things.

Perhaps there would be extra caves and areas unaccessable to you in the originals, but accessable in this one depending on the season, with Summer being normal R/S/E Hoenn.
