They should allow us to search for Pokemon that we have not yet encountered, filter out all those impossible requests, (Seriously, just block any "level 9 and under" requests that cannot be obtained at that level, like Reshiram or even Skuntank.) Also, a better interface that shows you all offers, not just the top few for your desired Pokemon. Also, it would be great if they updated the interface to something more computer-like. It should show you the newest offers as if the GTS was a website, and you can filter results to find the Pokemon you want, and be able to see everything about the Pokemon. As well, you should be able to recieve multiple trade offers for your offering. For example, if you put your Scizor up for trade, instead of specifying you want a particular Pokemon and being stuck with whoever gives it to you first, different people could offer their Pokemon based on filters you set, like level, gender, species, shininess, etc. and you could choose which one you want. This way, opportunities could be greatly expanded.

Well, that depends on the Rattata. Top percentage and all that.

In all seriousness, it would depend on how common that "common" Pokemon truly is. If it's a normal Rattata, then it may not be worth a Legend. If it's shiny, then we have a brand new kettle of fish over here. Same with any Dream World Pokemon. My Japanese DW Golurk cost me a Landorus when he was offered up as a level 12 Golett on GTS last summer. Most would pass up that sort of trade but I took the chance and got a great reward. Again, it might seem common but you never truly know.

I know it's been said multiple times on this thread, but I'll say it too--no more impossible trades. I am beyond sick of trying to get a legit Reshiram and being spammed with "Wanted: Zekrom Level 9 and Under" requests.

I would also like more filters like "Pokemon with/without nickname", "Shiny Pokemon", etc.

Bullshit Bob is common name so it would follow that multiple people would name their Bulbasaur Bob. In fact I could theoretically breed two bulbasaurs name them bob and show them to you. but I'm fine with the plan. But having a nature and shiny search would be rad too

GF should implement trainer profiles with people you've met online (through trading, battling, etc.) And you'd be able to see their GTS requests.

Then there would be 3 Bob the Bulbasaurs. That's still rarer than the millions of boring, non-nicknamed regular Bulbasaurs. =P

Within every generation, the GTS got improved. In gen 5, GTS Neogiations was announced.

And since Pokémon X and Y are moving to 3DS, which obviously has better Internet than the DS, how could the GTS be improved in X and Y?

Make it so people can't request the impossible (Level 9 Reshiram).
Most of the GTS's problems would be solved right then and there.

I realize that the traders who ask for the impossible (lv 9 and under Reshiram) aren't actually traders, but cloners, but still. I'd like them to stop that.

Make it easier to get Pokemon you haven't seen yet. I don't want them to just let the player request any and all Pokemon right off the bat- that's just too easy- but they can at least expand what species you can get and how you can get them with a little work. A "what can I get for this" feature that filters requests down to ones that can be fulfilled by the Pokemon you're offering up would be nice. Also, having the in-game battle facilities count towards "seen" in the 'dex would not only help with overall dex completion but give the player a bit more incentive to try those things out.

Oh, and nthing the illegal requests ban.

Being able to SCROLL through all the offers matching your search, instead of seeing only a maximum of 7 (6 asking for a Reshiram level 9 and the other asking for an Arceus level 100)

OMG really I wish they'd ban the impossible 9 and under requests and also allow full scroll throughs of results.

Instead of the 'Block impossible offers' feature, why not have the option to specify what Pokémon you are not willing to trade?

You can have a customisable list of Pokémon that, if people are asking for them, they wouldn't show up in your search. Sure, it wouldn't be the easiest thing to manage for the player, but it is more feasible than the alternative.
