Combee/Vespiquen are based off of real-life bees. Unfortunately, male bees have no potential. Their only purpose in life is to be the queen bee's slave and die a month later. At least female bees have potential to be promoted to leader after the former queen dies.
And hmmm...a male-only evolution for Gothorita? That sounds interesting...
OK, GameFreak. It's time for more Eeveelutions. Chop-chop. All joking aside, I'd love to see more Eeveelutions. I think Sableye and Mawile are due evolutions.

If Dunsparce ever evolves it just has to stay a dunce. Same deal with Stunfisk; it has to keep trolling.
My post from another thread and it's relevant here:
Everybody wants more Eeveelutions but most of the time I really don't care if we do or am not interested in the idea. As far as ideas for new Pokemon go new Eeveelutions are probably the easiest and the most unoriginal. Just take an Eevee and slap on some typing signature features on it and, BOOM!, you got yourself and Eeveelution.
Though to be fair the the idea of Eeveelutions, whenever some of these come out they always have some a good design themes with respect to each other.
- Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon were the base for the whole Eevee design and contributed to the games' emphasis on trading and social interaction.
- Espeon and Umbreon have a day and night duality to go along with the introduction of that very feature in Gen II.
- Leafeon and Glaceon have a warm and cold temperate theme going on. (May have been better suited for the BW release what with the season feature?)
This kind of converging designs really make Eeveelutions much more interesting and help alleviate the problems when designing these guys.
As for an evolution of a previous Pokemon, how about...I don't know. That Basculin evolution a page or two back looked pretty good. Looks just as grumpy and ferocious as Basculin itself. It's probably got that dueling heads trait like Zweilous.
That ship has sailed. They've had their chance at that for over 10 years, and haven't. I don't see them doing that now.
A lot of the remaining single stage pokemon I'd like to see get evolutions. Top of my list is probably Tropius. That thing was one of my favorites of gen III, and is just such a cool design and concept overall. I'd love it to get a family.
Well, you know how Gallade and Froslass were male and female versions of Glalie and Gardivoir. I'd like to see more of that, like a male version of Milotic or mismagaius and female version of luxray, looking more like a lioness.
oh and an even weaker pre evo of magikarp
You know, I hadn't really thought of it like that, but I suppose if they are going to make more eeveelutions, they'll probably be related with some sort of dichotomy. So I guess something like Poison & Steel, Ghost & Dragon, or Fighting & Flying eeveelution pairs would make sense as the next pairs to come out (or Rock, Fighting & Flying, if they want a full blown trio, though I'm least interested in Rock as an Eeveelution).
Also, on a related note, I'd really like to see an expansion of the elemental monkeys' evolution lines; they could be the new eeveelutions. In particular, I'd like to see at least an Electric-typed one, as well as a Normal-typed prevo (with Normal-typed evo) that ties them all together, since that would cover all of the starter types, though other types wouldn't go amiss (like Poison).

The story of Team Aqua's return - New draft to replace the horrible old one coming Feb 2012!
Pre-evolution of Pansage/Pansear/Panpour (breed via these Elemental Monkeys holding Labyrinth Incense)
Pre-evolution for Eevee (I think he's too small, but that's roughly the size of an Azurill. Breed via holding a Devolution Incense)
I'd love to see a evolution for ariados instant new favorite pokemon assuming they didn't screw it up. also a new evolution for kricketune and ledian as well as more evolutions for dark types and other bug types I didn't mention
