Actually, we call Poison Ivy by a different name here where I live: Poison Oak. If they were following a pattern of poisonous plants, they would've used Sumac and Hemlock.

On a side note, why the heck did they have to put "City" after Rustboro? Why wouldn't Rustboro work by itself? Oldale would have worked VERY well by itself without "Town" or "City" after it. I hate these crappy city names...

I read on TPM that TM39 is going to go from fan-translated Rock Seal or Rock Trap to official Nintendo-translated Rock Tomb, but I cannot confirm this info. If it's real, I like it.

poison ivy isn't even a tree...

Actually I'm already over the names, and the town names arn't really too bad. If rock tomb is the real name of rock seal then, that's cool, because it is a better name. Though I guess nintendo is still giving anybody with a name a pun-name, roxanne? lol, okay whatever, I don't really care, the game is fun.

Well, in any case, anime fans should rejoice. Sooner or later, we're going to find out what the female rival's name is. Once we have that, we'll know Haruka's english name. (As Haruka is your rival if you play as a male.)

Well, to Scizor Master, many of the unconfirmed names (names we don't have on the list at the top) you have there say "possibility" and the rest are unconfirmed. Plus I've seen that list on Pokémasters official topic. I even see where you said you'd put that list on other sites. I'll add them when:

A) It's on Pokémon.Com or in Nintendo Power
B) The game is released in English (I'll have it first day)
C) Mozz, Latios, Archaic, Kuno, or Evan tells me to for some other unlisted reason

And that is all. I personally trust everything Meowth346 says, but being that I have to be somewhat neutral as a mod, I'm not going to put Absol, Donmel, etc. even though I have Numakuroo's Meowth346 name there.

I heard two interesting rumors:

1. Jucain's English name is Forestroy (very popular rumor, which makes me think it's real)
2. Bashamo's name is (sigh) Rooferno.

Now, I reinterate that these are rumors since I've heard no sources mentioned with them, but I figured this would give people something to look for to either prove, or disprove. And it's always fun to laugh at the possibility of Bashamo's English name.

OK, I found someone who says they saw in Nintendo Power that Characteristics are Abilities, and Raging Stream Characteristic is now Torrent Ability. I've put it up.

Well, according to NGG from TPM, neither of those 2 names are real. Of course, it's entirely up to you whether or not you take his word or it. Personally I do since he got most of the confirmed names right b4 Nintendo confirmed them

I'm a sceptical person, so you won't see me trusting people with names. I just want to make a note that the 3 names from Meowth346's site (Donmel, Knuckler, Absol) are just his romanizations that have been there for a while, so I think it would be best to get a second source before we can add them to the list.

I just got my Nintendo Power. I couldn't find that info but here's what I did find (sorry if any of this has already been posted):

Treecko's description: Wood Gecko Pokemon

1st page of Treecko's Pokedex entry (from a screenshot):
TREECKO is cool, calm and collected - it never panics under any situation. If a bigger foe were to glare at this...

Torchic's description: Chick Pokemon

You can pick different kinds of berries and make them into Pokeblocks. The Japanese word was Poroks or something, not sure if that was referring to the berry or the Pokeblock.

male main character: Frustratingly, Haruka's English name is not shown in the preview, however in a few screenshots the male character's name is revealed to be Seth. Whether that's the actual name or one of the option names (like choosing Ash, Red, or Gary in Pokemon Red) remains to be seen.

On Pochena: The Nintendo Power preview takes you through the opening of the game where Prof. Birch gets attacked by a Pochena, but the magazine doesn't mention the name Pochena (either the Japanese name or whatever the English name is). However, in a screenshot a couple pages over, a Pokeball is thrown at a wild Pochena, and its name in the screenshot is Poochyena. Guess that's its English name.

Like to, but the scanner we have is hooked up to Mom's computer which is really slow. It's a good scanner but the software for it sucks. Full-page scans come up huge on the screen and they're saved as 10-15 MB BMPs with no way to change them. I have a better program installed on it now (my picture editing software from my computer) but Mom's computer can barely handle it. Otherwise I'd do it for ya.
