Let's just have a group of BMG 1337- only without a 1337 forum! Keep the 1337 with the little guys, and the little guys will start hero worship. (Works every time!) Start a 1337 forum, and the 1337 will be ph33rd like slimy devils or honest politicians. It's just not a good situation.

Alternatively, drop the whole 1337 thing. Else the so-called 1337 will come to think they deserve being worshipped, and flame those who do not worship them and dare to challenge them.

Frankly, I don't see how having spent more time on a board makes you better than someone else. It only means you found the community before someone else.

Note : I've had to deal with more than enough crap from Rhydon4, Dean and the rest of the TPM "1337 \/375" squad (as a mod getting them kicked in the nuts over this, not as a member getting their flaming.), so I am more than a little wary of anything dealing with veterans et al.

I never thought if it that way! You're right, Damien. If it weren't for people calling them "1337," they might not think they need a forum for it.

Yeah, I agree. I always hear peeps talking about how they're 1337 vets because they joined in 2000. I made a joke about it, saying something to the effect of, "Yeah, I joined in 2000 so I'm a vet! Pin a medal on me!" Frankly, I think the people who are really 1337 are the ones who don't consider themselves to be. Think about it, it kind of makes sense. People without big heads make the best decisions.

Yeah, I guess I'm getting a little sick of this "1337 \/375" BS. I've been liking to think I'm "1337" for the longest time. Why? Just because without thinking so, you feel more like a noob than ever. Like, "Will I ever be '1337' like (PokemonName_YearNumber) or whatever."

Really, you seem to have outed me in altruism there, Damien. Here I've been thinking that the divisions of "1337" and "noob" are such a good thing. In truth, when peeps start getting called "1337" it's human nature for them to start considering themselves better than everyone else. That was what CML was all about at the end- peeps that were better than everyone else. From what I've heard- most of them didn't have a clue! The one's that did typically weren't that crazy about CML, anyway.

That's why I hate the idea of CML- why should "1337" members go locking themselves away in little private boards? I was talking to Bri and Tigrin on Anenga, and they were talking about some old "How to Manipulate Giovanni When He's Drunk," thread. I said that sounded funny, but I'd never seen it. They said that was understandable- it had been in CML. I thought how sorrowful that was, because it really sounded funny! To think, nobody else saw that but a select illuminatae of peeps. That kinda sux!

So, if you're on a forum, the point is to talk to people. That means all peeps, not just some 1337os from the Classic 1337s Lounge, or whatever. I say that all parts of the board should be open to everyone! Besides, who knows what interesting and new things a newbie might have to say that a seasoned vet might not have thought of in a million years- fresh, new opinions!

I'll put it to you this ways: If Pokemon were like CML, Misty, Brock, and all the GL's would be sittin' around in a little room passin' pRonz and tellin' off-color jokes. And all the while, trainers like Ash and Haruka would just become unseasoned dopes who had great potential!

Hmm? (Remembers Kuno wasn't on BMGf originally.) Oh! No! It's not a show, per say. (It was kind of a circus.) CML was the "Classic Members Lounge" on the old BMGf. It was a buch of 1337s that formed a little inner circle and... well... passed pRonz!

I know what you are talking about, but your show idea for Pokemon seems entertaining. ^_^

UPN had its own such forum aka. Forum 15. Speaking of which since I don't pay for a server I can probably put that up again without any troubles. ::whistles::

Nah! Mozzy speaks often enought of various pRonz and makes enough off-color jokes to make such a forum unnecessary on UPN. :p

All I remember was HT constantly BEGGING to get in. I wasn't in it, and I kinda wanted to, but you should have seen what HT said. He took it to COURT (I'm pretty sure he took it to the court forum... help me out here HT).

I wouldn't want to see HT complaining all over again. ;) Besides, it's not right for some people to think they are better than others, escpecially when they come to a Pokémon forums and NEVER speak about Pokémon. Then they are just plain pathetic (no offense).

We all kind of wanted to get in. I know I did. But, the more I heard of it after shedding my noobness, the more I realized I wouldn't have liked it that much.

But, wow! Taking it to BG Court. Isn't that a lil' extreme?

I do hope you will enjoy your stay here in the BulbaGarden forums. To me, I do not look at how long a member has been to a forum, but their dedication to it. After all, we all started somewhere.
