Bulbagarden Global Trade Station Rules & Guidelines
Posting Guidelines
Welcome to Bulbagarden Global Trade Station! These are the rules you must follow whenever posting to any of the subsections.
First and foremost, our global forum rules. Especially pay attention to the Multiple Posting rule: except for catalog updates, if the last post in a thread is yours then EDIT that post, don't make a new one. Also, excess "bumping" of your threads is not allowed (more on this below).
We strive to provide a safe trading environment for everyone but our powers are limited to what is written on the forum, so use common sense when making trades. Be careful about trading with someone who you don't know very well and is offering a trade that seems ridiculous or too good to be true. If you were tricked or you have other problems with trading, let us know in our Trade Problems and Issues Reporting Thread.
Do not type the thread title in all capitals; we will rename your thread if necessary. If your thread is left unnoticed, you may bump your thread only once every five days. Also, if you have multiple wants/offers of single Pokémon, post them all in the same thread. We want each member to have an equal chance at their thread being noticed.
Do not hijack other members' trade threads. This means you can't barge into a want thread and then arrange a trade with someone who sent an offer to the original poster there. If you want the same thing as someone else, you should start a thread of your own.
Whenever dealing with hacks, both members must be aware of it before the trade takes place. Trading a hack without the recipient knowing will lead to an infraction. If you feel suspicious about a Pokémon's legitimacy, you'd better use the Dubious Disc forum to prevent problems.
You should note if you have used foreign devices on your game cart such as Action Replays, regardless of if the Pokémon are legitimate. Even though such a trade should be safe, some people take safety measures to avoid the possibility of their game getting damaged or flagged.
Please mention if your Pokémon are obtained through cloning or RNG abuse. Our view is that those methods are not hacking, but not everyone thinks the same.
Bulbagarden Networks does not support the usage of illegal game copies in any way. Thus, any threads involving emulators, flash carts and other applications/devices allowing people to use ROMs will be closed and the user will be infracted for Copyright Violation.
N.B.: An automatic lockdown of old threads has been put into place in Global Trade Station. All threads older than 14 days are automatically locked.
What Goes to Each Section
The Global Trade Station is divided into six subforums, each with its own function.
Threads in Munchlax's Cravings contain requests of certain Pokémon and/or items. You may optionally specify that hacks are allowed, but you shouldn't refuse legal Pokémon in such a case.
Delibird's Deals is for Pokémon and item offers. Again, hacks can optionally be allowed in exchange, but not offered.
The various giveaways belong to Mystery Gift. A giveaway is defined as an offering thread where the recipient can trade anything in return for your Pokémon.
Anything dealing specifically with hacks goes to Dubious Disc. This includes wants, offers and giveaways. Our definition of "hacked" includes Pokémon crafted or altered by applications and devices such as Pokésav and Action Replay. RNG abuse or cloning (regardless of method) are not considered hacking. (If this list is missing something, check with the staff before posting it to regular sections.)
Goldenrod Tunnel is a special forum for trade-related issues and service requests, including but not limited to:
- Trade and tradeback for evolution induced by trading
- Trade and tradeback for Pokédex data
- Transferring Pokémon between two games of the same member via a third game (same generation or Poké Transfer for Gen IV-V)
- Cloning
- SID checking
Celadon Department Store hosts all of our trade shops. A shop is a thread with a lot of offers and usually also hosts several services. Unlike regular offers, shops are also expected to update with new content and not just be there for a few trades. Shops need to be approved before you can post them; see the special rules thread in the section for more details.
Forum Specific Rules
Currently, we have one forum specific rule: Illegal Hacking/Trading. In a nutshell, cheating or stealing in a trade will get you infracted, as will trading hacks without the other party knowing and agreeing on it. You must've also checked whatever codes or methods you're using to obtain or trade Pokémon or items won't damage the other player's game.
Thank you, and have a good time trading!
