Nothing of the sort is implied.
Ah...I see...I read:
These two as that. The visual differences between male and female Pokémon, 「シンオウ地方の西側と東側における外観の違い」 The visual differences between Pokémon in the east and west of Sinnoh
These scans look so wonderful...
I wish I could a chance to see a comic *sigh*
So... Is this only being released in a monthly publication, or has it been released in volume format? ((If it has been released in volume format, I could head over to the not-so-local Kinokuniya...)) I like the premise so far, and the characters have great personalities.
((The "Heroes" comparison helped me out a bit, too ^_^ ))
Not yet. It will be a long long long while before it gets collected into volumes - this is the seventh (!) chapter of Pokémon Special and they are still only at the fifth chapter in the books. And the fifth chapter hasn't even ended! But they seem to have accelerated the pace at which the books are published - once every two or three months now, instead of once every 4-8 before.
The Pokémon Special staff deserve credit for not rushing through the fifth and sixth chapters for the sake of focusing on Diamond and Pearl. Other than that, they have quite the talent for constructing a story with minimal flow that ultimately satisfies little expectations.
can we get more scans please? like one of after berlitz did the weird movements, one of Diamond and Berlitz and one of a jealous Pearl. tia
I'm also curious to what Berlitz's real bodygaurds look like, can we have a scans of them?
i think we have.
chants for scans!
So "Mars" was actually a Luxio? That was a surprise. Now I REALLY want to see it...
Kurogane already? I assume this means we'll be seeing Hyota soon. He's sure had a lot of exposure recently.
And the fact that Ms. Berlitz's real bodyguards seem one step behind her all the time (now just reaching the statue that the Bippa chewed) is making me think...
Hmm, it begins to look like there's not much of a coherent plot (yet). Each episode is almost completely independent of the previous one, aside from some character development, perhaps.
Anyway. So the trio arrive at Kurogane City. The girl seems well-read, and explains to the boys that Kurogane City is a coal-mining town, the origin of coal among other things. Diamond is thirsty, and offers Pochama a drink too, but of course it refuses. Pearl refers to the Pokédex entry that we are all familiar with, and comments that it resembles itsmastermistress, who orders them to find a hotel for them to stay at - some place with a nice atmosphere.
Then a bulldozer comes hurtling towards them. Pochama saves Pearl and Ms. Berlitz with Bubble attack. Then the voice of a miner scolding his Psyduck, nicknamed Kiiro (yellow colour), followed by profuse apologies to the trio. The reactions of the three are interesting (see scans below) - Pearl is not impressed with such a nickname with no "twist"; Diamond realises that the miner had said iya 4 times and suimasen 6 times... while Ms. Berlitz is excited about his offer to do something to make up for the incident: she wants to go into the coal mine!
Looks like this girl is not your usual spoilt brat - she wants to go see the real thing for herself, rather than just read about it in books. Cue fantasy scenes. (See scan.) Cue recurring gag of her doing something in front of Pearl, then vehemently denying it. The boys have no interest in going into the coal mine, so they leave her to go by herself. She thinks that they're implying that there's little danger.
As the boys practice their act, Diamond points out that she is a magnet for trouble, always getting attacked (襲われグセ). But Pearl reassures Diamond by pointing out that her Pochama seems to be capable of defending her. Perahiko comes in parroting the words of the miner, and Diamond wonders if Pearl has sent it out to spy on her again. He denies it, and says that he's basing their next sketch on coal mines, then runs off to there.
At the coal mines, Kiiro gets into the bulldozer again, and the miner runs off after it. Ms. Berlitz hears a beautiful sound and wanders into a cave full of, yes, Korotok and Korobōshi. Pochama manages to take care of most of them by the time Pearl arrives, and he comments that it seems to be quite capable.
The miner returns (dragging Kiiro by its tail) and explains that, according to Hyōta, the coal mines are not just for mining coal, but also a place to train Pokémon. Pearl says it's no wonder that the wild Pokémon were itching to battle. Ms. Berlitz points out that Pochama's pride has been hurt again - they have to do something to help it regain its pride. The miner suggests that she challenge the Pokémon Gym (ah, so is this how the main plot begins?) - and so she asks Pochama if it would like to - and of course it does.
But first, she would like to go back to the hotel. She asks what hotel Pearl has found for her, and he gets nervous. (See scan.) She pushes, he replies - the Kurogane Grand Hotel, Super Celebrity Suite Room. She is shocked - yet another modest, simple, cheap hotel?
Meantime, Hyōta has returned with his Zugaidos... and Diamond is lost, with no idea where Pearl and Ms. Berlitz is.
Do you happen to have a front view of them?Ms. Berlitz hears a beautiful sound and wanders into a cave full of, yes, Korotok and Korobōshi
Wow, Berlitz is going to be collecting the badges? That's surprising, considering her personality. Really came out of left field.
Pokemon Black and White. Its Pokemon . . . IN AMERICA!
*cheers*
I was hoping she would be the one to be collecting badges. And her fangirlyness over the mine is cute <3.
Also, being the horrible fangirl I am, do you have a scan of Hyouta? I'm curious to see how he's drawn in the manga.
