Why would Australia and Singapore help? Australia would rather focus on their own bids. You haven't really answered a proper reason why Jarkata could host the Olympics.
Don't sell Indonesia short: while Indonesian on average aren't very well off economically, there's enough of them that Indonesia itself is one of the world's top-twenty ecoomies. (The same is true of China. For GDP per capita, China barely cracks the top-100 (Indonesia barely misses it). For GDP *overall*, China is 2nd and Indonesia about 15th.
I think when it comes to the country's ability to handle big events, GDP proper is usually a better metric (as it gives you an idea of how rich the country itself is). In that light...Indonesia is in the same general vicinity as Canada, Spain, Turkey and Australia (and, significantly, ahead of the last) - all of them recent hosts or recent bidders.
They're probably an outside shot, but hardly impossible.
I don't really care where it's hosted, I just care that wrestling is back in! They should have never considered taking it out in the first place! They should have never considered putting baseball in either because its only really big in a few countries. While wrestling is big in more of them. Plus with baseball you already have the world series and other championships. I for one am a wrestler and I know if you're serious about wrestling your goal is to make it to the Olympics.
but even weith the political climate there i find it still more likely than those
well in 2018 the Olympic committee will vote to make American Football into the Olympics for over 24 counties play the sport and counting
Yes please do not put american football in the olympics! To be honest, do we need anymore sports added to the olympics?
We have enough already!
The next IOC congress for summer Olympics selection will be in 2017.
Where did you find this news? It's too early for a shortlist of sports for inclusion to be released.
American Football has no chance at Olympic inclusion. It is exceptionally poorly developed outside of America.
This is just a promotional press release. They say that the IOC could start voting as early as 2017, but this doesn't really mean anything. Every federation talks about getting added to the Olympics, but the vast majority of them will never even make it to a IOC congress vote.Quote:
