I'll be supporting England as always, but I'm not expecting them to do very well, I hope they do better than I expect though.

I'll wait for Argentina's debut before saying anything. Last semester Messi wasn't doing very well, yeah he scored a lot but still below his standards and in Barcelona the whole team plays for him anyway. But again, I prefer to wait for him in action. Many players perform in a completely different level (for good or for bad) in a regular league game than in a friendly or a world cup.

Still their group is a piece of cake. Compare with Germany's or Spain's.

News just in - Buffon will not play the match against England. It seems likely that Salvatore Sirigu will take his place.

    :O That's sad. Injuried?

The list of injuried players who missed or nearly missed this WC is so big, they could make a squad by themselves and even win the trophy.

Colombia (last participation 1998) seems pretty good. Granted, Greece isn't the best opponent one could think of. Deserved win and good start - curious to see where they will end.

They will have a harder time against both Japan and Cote d'Ivoire, but I believe Colombia's gonna top the group. They played well, but they didn't play their best game.

And they don't have Falcao, an amazing striker.

Their substitute goalkeeper is about to turn 43 and was already a substitute in USA 94 (and the first GK in France 98). Legend.

Yeah Buffon hurt his ankle in practice. Tough for Italy, but I believe they are good enough to beat England still.

Uruguay vs. Costa Rica suddenly got a whole lot more exciting. I definitely hope Costa Rica can keep this up since it's always nice to see the underdog in a group of death doing good. Uruguay's pretty disappointing so far, granted they don't have Suárez to count on for this match.

So, Costa Rica won. I am glad, as I supported them as an underdog. ALL HAIL COSTA RICA! :D

Well that's definitely a surprise. I'll definitely be rooting for Costa Rica to get out of the Group Stage. And that Joel Campbell, fantastic player.

Scandalous offense by Maxi Pereira at the end. I get he was frustrated but this was just awful.

The second after he did that there was an obvious "What have I done?!" on his face
And he didn't even argue about the red card
I don't think I've ever seen someone being sent off and not disputing it O_o

Yeah, I guess he acknowledged it was definitely very wrong what he did, as he probably did it in a haze of frustration. Also because he immediately apologized to Campbell. That definitely doesn't justify the hideous offense in general though.

    Justify it absolutely doesn't, indeed.
