We got 2 now. This has been a really good day, started off in 21st jumped up to 10th place now!

Its good, bit of disappointment in the guys rowing. But 2 gold, nothing to complain about.

There is a chance of a 3rd Gold medal (if not at least a medal). The 200m Mens backstoke final is on at 7:30 and 2 british hopefuls are in it. Both had great times in the semi's as well

I kind of had a feeling Kohei would get gold. Despite the American commentators pronouncing it wrong.

Good to see the US Gymnastics teams doing so well. I'm not a big on gymnastics, but it was incredible watching the US women's gymnastics team win gold last night. And then Phelps achieving his 19th medal too was amazing.

Team USA down to 2nd for most medals though, we gotta beat China and their crazy diver.

Think this is shaping up to be a broad repeat of 2008, especially at the top, think America will get more medals overall, but China will win the games by getting many more Golds than USA.

UK is sort of a dark horse at the moment, as is Germany, first 2 days were terrible for the UK, 0 medals, then the next 2 days we won some silver and bronze taking us to 21st. Now yesterday we had a really nice bounce up to 11th. Even more impressive is Germany, first 3 days, 0 medals, then over the last 2 have won medals of all types and risen to 6th

Yeah we are on 4 golds now. I dont think thats it, we have some rowing hopes tommorow and Im not keeping up with the swimming, but from what I know Rebecca Adlington is determined for golg tonight, although she has tough competition

Haha we are the only 2 posting ;)... I can confidently say we will have another by the end of the night. they are never garuntees but it Beccy adlington dosent get gold tonight, Ill be surprised.

Yeah I'm surprised, I came back from a long hiatus, in my first stint here I was here for the Beijing and Vancouver games and remember them being covered in so much detail and depth. But it seems no one cares about our games, it's only us Brits posting. We've not even got a proper Olympics thread, this thread was meant to be about the hype before the games.

GB was momentarily in 4th place but it seems le french have retaken that spot.

And in a few minutes UK has got another 2 medals and are now in 3rd!!!

Honestly, Phelps and Lochte aren't living up to expectations. Phelps got out-touched in the 200 fly, one of his signature events, and Lochte got 4th in the 200 free. Both of them are doing better now, and I'm crossing my fingers for that last relay.
