It's possible they just chose someone at random. Unfortunately, your silencing doesn't seem to incriminate anyone.

If somebody is silenced, they cannot speak in-thread for the following day phase. In some cases, like in this game, silencing also means no PMs or QT communication. I think. If I'm remembering at the moment. :P

Or, rarely, even longer than a day.

The group at Heartland had to tread lightly after the previous day’s death of one of their own, Haruto. Somebody out there had information… it was now a matter of eliminating them.

There was a friend of Yuma’s that appeared to have garnered the trust of the duelists. By killing him, both a potential threat and ally to Yuma would be out of the way, and hopefully, those close to him would be more than a little shaken.

With that in mind, the group set their plan in motion.

Yuma’s tight-knit group of friends had already lost a valuable member in Cathy nights ago… and now Yuma lost one of the friends he had known the longest.
