A candle was lit in the darkness.

This wasn't just any candle, however. This was a living, breathing creature - a Pokémon named Litwick.

Litwick hovered gently above the worn concrete path, gazing gently out at the ocean. Although it was a Fire-type, it still loved the way the beautiful moonlight shimmered on the wave's edges and lit up the water. It was quite peaceful out here, without any wind to disturb the nature's quiet beauty. Litwick gently landed on the concrete path with a sigh, gazing out across the horizon. He wished he could grow stronger and evolve, but he still had a long way to go.

From the darkness behind him crept a shadowy figure - the figure of a human, cloaked in complete shadows. The person was holding a dark PokéBall casually by his side, trying not to appear threatening.

Litwick turned around and recognized the PokéBall immediately. In sheer panic, he let out a Flamethrower, scorching a dark ashen mark through the concrete. However, the figure jumped to avoid the attack and threw the PokéBall at Litwick. The Pokémon's life force was absorbed into the PokéBall and he was lost forever.

You are Litwick!

You are a small Ghost/Fire type closely resembling a candle. Litwick appear to be beacons of light for lost travelers, but they lead the people astray and feed on their life force instead. However, right now you are solely dedicated to getting rid of Team Plasma, and every night you may protect another player from harm by messaging America* "Protect: Name". Due to your high flammability, there is a 33% chance your target will catch fire and die. Oops! You cannot use this ability on yourself.

You are sided with the Pokémon. You win when Team Plasma has been eliminated.

Crackfox was killed. She was sided with the Pokémon.

However, that was not the only death to happen in this treacherous night...

When the sun rose the next morning, the body of another Pokémon was found, laying still and not moving or breathing. The cause of the Pokémon's death was unknown, but further investigation revealed that this was not Team Plasma's doing.

This was done by another Pokémon.

You are Conkeldurr!

It is said Conkeldurrs taught humans to make concrete 2,000 years ago. You are known to be a very rough and tough Fighting-type, and the other Pokémon are rather scared of you. Once during the course of the game, you will be able to stop a lynch against either another player or yourself. Simply message America* "Stop Lynch" and there will be a No Lynch that day. After you use this ability, you will become a vanilla Townie.

You are sided with the Pokémon. You win when Team Plasma has been eliminated.

Or CrackFox tried to protect FA and it backfired. And considering that the flavor text made special mention of Litwik being on a concrete path and the attack scorching the concrete, and it was Conkeldurr who died... :/ Two town deaths in one night...this game is not starting off well. The mafia must have targeted CrackFox, who used his ability to try and protect FA (emphasis on try), which is why we got two deaths.

Feli, there could be an independent with one or more kills as well.

I'm not ruling out a vig. I just made an observation about the correlation between the flavor text, the doctor's odd ability to kill instead of protect their target 1/3 of the time, and the second victim.

Is it normal for a doctor's (or doctor variant) ability to work even as the mafia targets him/her?

So, the Insane Doctor went down. The silver lining is it's not the main doctor at least I guess.

Litwick is an awesome Pokemon btw, my favorite Fire-type goes down. I like how America had the chances as 33% in correlation to Flame Body's effects.

I don't see why it wouldn't, considering that the "side effect" of the doctor's role was a death. Plus, it said that he couldn't use the role on himself.
