The princess' warning was dire, Tabuu was not dead. He had amassed a few other malevolent trophies to join him and he was not pleased with his defeat.
Because he can't leave Subspace he must do his dirty with remotely. What this meant remains to be seen.

She was only able to relay this warning to an armed bounty hunter who happened to be visiting the castle.
However, this bounty hunter had amazing means of communication and managed to warn everyone via a global communicator.

And so all the trophies believed themselves to be prepared for the Subspace Army.
