Thread: Star Trek (2009) Mafia - ENDGAME, Federation won [7/23/12]

Nero was furious. Time and time again he and his crew had been bested by those Federation rats. Even Ayel, his most competent and loyal crewmember, had fallen. Despite this, he refused to give up. He would pursue this path of revenge until his dying breath.

He quickly made his way down to the Narada's shuttle bay, only stopping briefly at a control panel to signal the crew to evacuate the ship. He would take Ambassador Spock's ship the Jellyfish and use the red matter it carried to destroy as many Federation planets as he could. Only then would the safety of this timeline's Romulus be assured.

As he entered the shuttle bay, he heard a rush of footsteps coming towards his location. He ducked to the left, just in time to avoid a stream of phaser fire. Now crouched behind some containers, he tried to formulate a plan to cross those ten meters between him and the Jellyfish. He had hoped they would not have been able to locate him so quickly. But no plan was forthcoming, so he decided to make a run for it while using phaser fire to distract the Starfleet officers.

He dashed out from behind the containers towards the Jellyfish while firing off a few shots in the direction the previous phaser fire had come from. The shots bought him some time, but not enough. Nero was only a few feet away from the Jellyfish when a phaser round hit him directly in the back, killing him instantly. He would never know that one of his shots had landed true.

Meron, you are Nero.



You are a Romulan from the 24th century and captain of the Narada, a Romulan mining vessel. After your wife and unborn child were killed when a supernova destroyed Romulus, you blamed Ambassador Spock and the Federation for failing to stop the supernova in time to save the planet. You attempt to exact revenge on Ambassador Spock and intercept his ship, but in the process your ship and his are pulled back in time to the 23rd century. You arrive first and as you wait for Ambassador Spock to emerge, you plot the destruction of the Federation.

Due to your position as the Narada's captain, you are the godfather and as such will show up as town upon a cop check. You may also override your subordinates' votes for the mafia kill.

In addition, you are so consumed with revenge, that should you die, you may choose a player to die with you. The hosts will PM you asking for your choice if this happens.

You are allied with the Romulans. Outnumber the Federation to win.

Meron, Romulan, was lynched.

The Puppetmaster, you are Dr. Leonard “Bones” McCoy.



You are gritty, opinionated, foul-mouthed, and a realist. However, you are also a good person and a loyal friend. Despite your strong dislike for flight and space travel, a nasty divorce leads you to ship out to Starfleet Academy where you form a strong friendship with James T. Kirk. When the fleet is deployed to investigate a “lightning storm in space,” you are assigned to the USS Enterprise as a medical officer. You soon inherit the responsibilities of chief medical officer.

Because of your abilities as a doctor, you may choose to protect one player each night from all night abilities, including kills. You may use this ability on yourself. In order to use your ability, PM the hosts with {Night X, Protect: Player}.

You are allied with the Federation. You win when all Romulans have been eliminated.

The Puppetmaster, Federation, was killed.

It is now Night 5. You may submit any night actions. This phase will end 11pm EDT (GMT-4) on July 23.

Galan sat alone in a cell aboard the Enterprise. Nero, Ayel, Miaek, and S'Tokkr were dead. The Narada had been captured. Avenging the deaths of their loved ones and seeing a Romulus free from the threat of the Federation seemed impossible now.

The door to the brig slid open. A man wearing a red Starfleet uniform entered and began talking to the security officer on duty.

"I need to access the circuitry in that cell. It's been drawing much more power than it should," said the man.

"Yes, sir," said the security officer, "Let me transport the prisoner to another cell." The security officer drew his phaser and, after training it on Galan, deactivated the forcefield containing the Romulan. "You, slowly walk to the cell on your right. Don't try any funny business," he said.

Galan began doing as the security officer instructed. But Galan refused to waste away in a Federation prison for the rest of his life. He would go down fighting. Just as the security officer seemed to relax after seeing Galan's apparent cooperation, Galan rushed towards the man, hitting him across the back of the head and grabbing the phaser from his suddenly limp hands. He turned towards the man in red and fired the phaser just as a stream of phaser fire caught him in the chest.

Aestivate, you are Galan.



You are a member of Nero's crew. Like the rest of the crew of the Narada, you lost loved ones when Romulus was destroyed by a supernova and are determined to see Nero's plans for revenge against Ambassador Spock and the Federation come to fruition.

You are not the most intelligent of Romulans but what you lack in brains you make up for in sheer strength. As such, one night during the game, you may choose a person to kill and it will bypass any and all protections the target has; being roleblocked cannot stop you either. This kill is independent of the mafia kill. To use your ability, PM the hosts with {Kill: Player}.

You are allied with the Romulans. Outnumber the Federation to win.

Aestivate, Romulan, was killed.

Belarus., you are Chief Engineer Olson.



You are a reckless adrenaline junky. You always like to be where the action is, and you like to try to push the limits of your own abilities. When the fleet is deployed to investigate a “lightning storm in space,” you are assigned as chief engineer of the fleet's flagship, the USS Enterprise. You wear a standard Starfleet uniform, issued in red.

Because you are so reckless, it is dangerous for others to be around you. If you are lynched, you will take a random person who voted for you down with you. If nightkilled, your killer will die as well.

You are allied with the Federation. You win when all Romulans have been eliminated.

Belarus., Federation, was killed. But not before winning!

The crew of the Enterprise, as well as Ambassador Sarek and his wife, quietly reflected upon the events of the past few days. They had done it. They had saved the Federation from destruction at Nero's hands. But the victory did not come without cost. The crews of the six ships that were destroyed at Vulcan. Scotty, Ambassador Spock, Captain Pike, Cupcake, Keenser, Bones. They would all be remembered for their bravery, for their willingness to put the lives of many before their own.

Paperhorse, you are James Tiberius Kirk.



You are hot-headed and stubborn but also very intelligent and good in a fight. Though you are initially grounded for cheating on the Kobayashi Maru test, you make it on board the USS Enterprise with a little help from your friend Bones. You were born during the evacuation of the USS Kelvin, which had encountered the Narada, Nero’s ship, at the Klingon-Federation border. Your father, the acting commanding officer, piloted the Kelvin on a collision course with the Narada, sacrificing his life so that you, your mother, and the remaining crew could escape by shuttlecraft.

Because of your resourcefulness, you are a jack of all trades. During the night, you may kill a player once, check a player’s alignment once, and roleblock a player once. You may only use one ability per night. In order to use your ability, PM the hosts with {Night X, Kill: Player}, {Night X, Check: Player}, and {Night X, Roleblock: Player}.

You are allied with the Federation. You win when all Romulans have been eliminated.

In your school days on Vulcan, you were often ridiculed for having a human mother. In spite of this, you were able to graduate at the top of your class, but chose to join the Starfleet Academy instead of the prestigious Vulcan Science Academy. When the fleet is deployed to investigate a “lightning storm in space,” you are the first officer of the fleet's flagship, the USS Enterprise.

Because of your ability to “mind meld,” you are able to discover the alignment of one player each night. In order to use your ability, PM the hosts with {Night X, Cop Check: Player}.

You are allied with the Federation. You win when all Romulans have been eliminated.

Mr. Fahrenheit, Federation, has won.

You are an intelligent xenolinguistics student at Starfleet Academy. You have very little tolerance for arrogance or stupidity and as such are not very fond of James T. Kirk initially. When the fleet is deployed to investigate a “lightning storm in space,” you are initially assigned to the USS Farragut, but demand to be reassigned to the fleet's flagship, the USS Enterprise. On the Enterprise, you serve as chief communications officer.

As chief communications officer, you are able to intercept transmissions. You may choose a person each night from whom you will receive copies of all PMs that person sends with names removed. In order to use your ability, PM the hosts with {Night X, Intercept: Player}.

You are allied with the Federation. You win when all Romulans have been eliminated.

NfiNity, you are Pavel Chekov.



You are a 17-year-old mathematics prodigy and a junior Starfleet officer. When the fleet is deployed to investigate a “lightning storm in space,” you are assigned as navigator on the bridge of the fleet's flagship, the USS Enterprise. Although your skills in mathematics are very useful, you are sometimes misunderstood when making announcements due to your thick Russian accent.

As the ship's navigator, you must be aware of the position of all nearby objects. Therefore, you may choose one player each night and learn who targeted that player that night, but not what actions were performed on them. In order to use your ability, PM the hosts with {Night X, Watch: Player}

You are allied with the Federation. You win when all Romulans have been eliminated.

NfiNity, Federation, has won.

HilbertCressLover, you are Hikaru Sulu.



You are a lieutenant in Starfleet. When the fleet is deployed to investigate a “lightning storm in space,” you are assigned as pilot of the fleet's flagship, the USS Enterprise. You were not originally supposed to have this position, but helmsman McKenna got lungworm. Though you are an inexperienced rookie, you are very intelligent and capable. Your special combat training in “fencing” also makes you a formidable opponent.

As pilot of the Enterprise, it is your responsibility to steer the ship away from any danger. Therefore, you may redirect the lynch once during the game. In order to use your ability, PM the hosts with {Redirect lynch from Player1 to Player2}.

You are allied with the Federation. You win when all Romulans have been eliminated.

HilbertCressLover, Federation, has won.

Russia. Feralize, you are Gaila.



You are a cadet at Starfleet Academy. You are roommates with Nyota Uhura, who often becomes annoyed with the frequency at which you bring young men back to your room. When the fleet is deployed to investigate a “lightning storm in space,” you are not assigned to the USS Enterprise.

Because of your sexual freedom, you may choose to “sleep with” one player per night and prevent them from using their role. In order to use your ability, PM the hosts with {Night X, Sleep With: Player}

You are allied with the Federation. You win when all Romulans have been eliminated.

You are a stoic and wise Vulcan and the father of Spock. You were the Vulcan ambassador to Earth, where you met and married Amanda Grayson. Though you claimed you married her because it was the logical thing for a diplomat to do, you later admit that you were in fact in love with her. Beneath your cold, logical exterior, you are a warm-hearted individual who cares deeply for his family and friends.

You are married to Amanda Grayson, and thus will know who she is from the start and share a QT with her. Please do not share this QT with anyone else.

Yay, good job Federation! Good job to the mafia as well, I was never 100% confident about who was mafia and who wasn't.

Omg so me, Mr. F and Puppet had an alliance. IT'S SO CANON. <3

1) Did you enjoy the game? Of course! It was a lot of fun. A little stressful, but that's just because I'm crazy.

2) Did you like your role? Absolutely. I can't believe I checked the Godfather night 1 though >___> But being a Jack of all trades with a vig kill was awesome.

3) Did one side seem overpowered? Not really. But I think having a town aligned bomb and a Paranoid Gun Owner is a bit unbalanced. But other than that, it was fine.

4) How did we do as hosts? Particularly in regards to organization, communication with the players, and updates/flavor text. It was really well organized, you had great roles, and great flavor text. And your updates were on time, which is a definite plus. Both of you should be proud, especially since it's your first game as a host.

5) What things do you think we could improve upon for future games? Nothing really comes to mind.

Overall great job!
