You know, I sometimes make fake claims as town. And sometimes I make fake claims as mafia, then actually recover from being caught. :3

It's not even useful, I just like to play with my own unique style.

^I make fakeclaims so much when I'm town. xD And so rarely when I'm mafia. It's really quite funny.

IMO, a better strategy is not to claim day 1 at all.

It's usually a good idea to stay as close to truth as possible, especially if you are mafia. If the role doesn't translate well into a town or anything, alter it just enough so it passes. Because one thing to keep in mind is "The more unbelievable your story is, the more people will believe it"

Like seriously, you could claim Mafia, and people would undoubtedly believe you a fool, and not kill you (Except it doesn't work here, because people are too nice to the fools. D:). But yeah, some ridiculous claims go through purely because nobody would claim it.

The trick to a good fakeclaim is don't do it every game, don't be predictable, don't tell other players your system for fake claiming, and come up with something believable. Better yet, steal a role from an older game.

Another one is claim something that will work with your ability. i.e. I'm the bomb, so I'll claim that I have lynch immunity.

I think Belarus. once claimed lynch proof to get the Mafia to kill her, when she was the bomb @Belarus.; did that work?

No, I've never claimed lynchproof before. Lithuania said she wanted to, but didn't.
