Why wouldn't I? It's true, and it's pretty important that everyone knows in case some people hadn't thought of it yet. And of course it still applies to me, don't see why you think it wouldn't.

I find it rather odd that you (and @Sputnik;) think it's weird to mention such a thing. Are you trying to say that when put in the same situation you would keep your mouths shut because you value your own lives over the town victory, hm?

No, when put in the same situation I wouldn't claim because it's day 1, which is exactly what I've done so far.

Basically I called Mijzelffan out for claiming vanilla and then saying it's likely that mafia will claim vanilla. He called me out for possibly not admitting that mafia would claim vanilla if I had claimed vanilla, but then I said that I wouldn't have claimed on day one in the first place so it doesn't matter.

I've also thought of more reasons why I'm right. Since Mij claimed vanilla on the first day, he's basically telling the mafia "hey, I'm not worth lynching" and therefore putting a target on the backs of other players who might have important roles. If that's not favoring self preservation over pro-town action then I don't know what is. Of course it's also possible that he's lying and he has a power role and just doesn't want to be targeted, but lying is a scummy thing to do in the first place so if he's lying then he's probably mafia anyway. The third option is that he actually is mafia and he thinks that admitting that mafia would likely claim vanilla makes him less scummy, which is of course WIFOM.

All the confused characters began shouting accusations at each other, hurling insults, dramatic exaggerations, and lame puns to no end. Cop here; guilty on Aelita. There's probably not a Lightning Rod in the setup, otherwise nobody would have died (unless there isn't a doctor in the setup either? unlikely imo, but I guess it's possible) and so Aelita is vanilla\miller, doc\miller, bomb\miller or a mafioso. She probably isn't a vanilla\miller since she didn't claim vanilla after trying to convince others to claim if they were vanilla, and so she's doc\miller, bomb\miller or mafioso. Seeing as bomb\miller and mafioso are both town-detrimental, I think it's in our best interests to lynch her.
