What began as a series of protests over taxes imposed by Great Britain on the American colonies “without due representation” has quickly escalated to mob rule and violence. The Battles of Lexington and Concord have set the stage for a war between the greatest military force in the world and a group of ragtag rebel colonists led by the same man who lit a spark that ignited into the French and Indian War twenty years prior.

The Second Continental Congress is split on how to deal with the problems facing them. Do they continue trying to ask King George for peace, or do they absolve allegiance to Great Britain and pray for General Washington’s unlikely victory?

The players are in place. Will the Americans claim victory? Or will the might of the British Empire crush all hopes for independence?

Rules:

#1. As the host, I claim the right to add, edit, or delete rules as needed in this game.

#2. Warnings and/or Modkills for:
- REVEALING YOUR ROLE PM. Enough said. Not even among mafia players. No screenshots, no to anything. If this happens, immediate removal from the game.
- INACTIVITY. Unless you tell me before absence (up to five days at most), I will replace you or if not possible, remove your role from the game. If you think you can't remain active, you might not want to sign up.
After three phases without any posts, or contacting anyone, I shall take action for the inactivity. Keep in mind that if you're leaving under our permission, you are still in the game but can be lynched or killed.
- POSTING AFTER DEATH, INFORMATIVE STYLE. If you're dead, don't be informative. It ruins the game. If we find any proof that a living player is involved in the mischief, then I will take action by notifying the proper authorities. There’s a difference between “GAIZ I TOLD YOU I WAS INNOCENT” after being killed off and “lol thanks guys by the way ___ is mafia and ___ is the cop.” It ruins the suspense. And the fun. In this vein, do not “like” posts after you are dead. It may seem inconspicuous to you to “like” a post, but it could be a way to inform people post-death of something.
-CHATTING. This is a mafia, not a chat thread. Please take all non-relevant discussion to the Situation Room. It gets hard to figure out what’s happening when you have to wade through six pages of chat.
-NOTE: DO NOT claim characters. You may roleclaim but you may not tell anyone that you are Henry Knox/George Washington/etc. Hints to your character are okay to a degree (“I’m the Father of the Country” kind of is not) so if you are wondering if your hint is too obvious, feel free to PM me and I’ll okay it for you.

#3. Rules regarding PRIVATE CONVERSATIONS

Feel free to share copies of private messages (OTHER THAN ROLE PMs) however you want, via PMs, QTs, or in the public thread. You can take screenshots if you wish.

#4. I would like copies of all correspondence. That includes, but is not limited to, PMs, VMs, Skype/other IM convos, etc. Add Hitomi in the To: field so that I get the PMs.

If you make a QuickTopic, please give me the link. If you use a name other than your username, tell me what name you're using in the QT.
I will not intrude in your plans unless it's needed; this process is to make sure that I am aware of what's going on and what's being faked.

#6. If you change your username, please announce it in the thread! It's confusing for the players and me if you don't do this. Just mention me @Hitomi; or send me a PM/VM.

#7. For voting, say "Vote: name." To cancel that, just post "Unvote: name" and then post a new name if you want to.

You can vote "No lynch," but in a tie between lynching a player and "no lynch,” lynching will win. There will be only ONE lynch per day.

#8. About night actions, you can change the target, as long as it's before the phase update.
Some night actions will take effect upon the moment that I read the PM, so keep that in mind.

#9. UPDATES: The phase change will occur at 10pm EDT (GMT-4) unless stated otherwise, except on Monday and Tuesday, when it will be between 11pm-midnight due to my work shift.

#10. As this mafia is based on real people and real events, though long dead, I would ask that you refrain from ridiculing or slandering any of the people. Arguing about why a person “shouldn’t be classified a hero,” or making snide or argumentative comments about that person’s religious, political, or philosophical views, or their military achievements or lack thereof, is prohibited. It will be counted as flaming/baiting and I will have a moderator intervene if you do not stop when asked. Likewise, responding to said comments will be treated in the same manner. We are here to play mafia, not lambast each other’s historical and cultural opinions, as we all have different opinions on each character in this mafia. Consider this a sufficient warning.
