I learned about it from a friend (CrystalGlacia), and was bored because around that time, the Nintendo forums had just closed. I liked Pokemon and saw that you could talk about pretty much everything on this site, so I joined.

Like most people, I found bulbagarden through bulbapedia... With a twist. One day I was browsing Bulbapedia, looking for more pokemon news, and then one day I saw an announcement that a trade center had just opened up... I couldn't resist the temptation, so I came here and joined almost instantly.

story's too long.
I had read Bulbapedia for a while, but that's not how I joined. One day, I was online. Somehow I ended up looking up Scary Pokemon, or something along those lines, on Google. A thread on here came up. I read it, then read an attached link on TVTropes, which proceeded to ruin my life, then joined the forums.
I found Bulbapedia when I was searching for Pokemon information, but not before going through Serebii and Smogon first. I never had an account for the two, especially Smogon, since I think they are too serious (and sometimes language inappropriate) for my taste. Anyway, The "On the Origin of Species" inspired me to take a look at BulbaNews, and then, I decided to take a look at the forum to look at the inner activity of members and the comments. It took me a long time to be a member and join in the fun of expressing my own comments.
Found Bulbapedia during my senior year of High School, when Pokémon Diamond and Pearl was in full gear. I think I looked it up to see what moves and stats certain Pokémon in my party could learn, and I think I found it through a link of Wikipedia back when each Pokémon meritted their own page over there. Practically visited Bulbapedia everyday when I saw it's pages on the anime and the video games. Because of this, I actually got more interested in teaching my Pokémon certain moves and natures. Learned a year later that there was a board attached to it, waited a year to sign up for it, and that's it.
I discovered Bubapedia quite some time ago. One day, there was a link in Bulbanews to these forums (I had already known they existed), so I decided to explore them a bit. I was amazed, got excited and joined the same day. Not regretting it so far.

I actually found this forum as one of my last forums to find so far. I found it while reading on serebii (yeah, that dead place) and found this forum much more exciting, allowing much more freedom. I found other forums by getting into fandoms over at Youtube (long time since I have revisited them) and they mentioned those forums (more specifically, one, Pojo). From there, people just mentioned a much more precise forum for anime (Janime) and I joined that one as well. Then with mentions on that site I found ToonZone, and later serebii, and then back to here.
I found BMGF when I was looking in the results of something I googled. I think the result was some image or a thread...
Please keep in mind that people will ship anything together these days...

Once I was looking up the Base stats of I believe Blaziken. Then I decided to check out the home page. I clicked on the forums and the same day I joined

Naturally, first place to go was wikipedia, despite being unreliable. on the Pokémon pages on wikipedia were nifty "external links". One of them was Bulbapedia. I checked it, I loved it, I stuck around.
I immediately saw forums, but didn't join. My knowledge of Pokémon was rather limited, along with aspects of the fandom I couldn't care less about (TCG, TFG, idiot shipping).
December 31st, 2008 I decided to join the boards anyways. I literally completed my registration at 11.59 PM. Intentionally. Stuck for a few weeks until other message boards required my full attention. Came back around the end of 2009 and visited every day since, occasionally posting.
I was on bulbapedia and I wondered what the forums were, so I clicked on it and started reading the threads and joined.

I was on the chat, and I discovered that Bulbagarden had forums. I joined shortly afterwards.
Oh, did I forget to mention I found this place also because people were thrashing some of the members for being hilarious idiots? Well, I thought to visit to prove them wrong.
