Personally I am not a fan of mixing up sweet and savory/salty food. Like chili with pineapple, I can't stand that.

Yeah. Though for me, I guess it depends on how the flavours mesh. I've only ever had chocolate chip pancakes at an IHOP restaurant, and that was many, many years ago.

True. But the idea that sweet stuff needs to go on them is so internalized with me, I don't think I'd be able to enjoy one with something savory on it.

Well I eat them with molten cheese sometimes, but it always feels a little weird doing so (like the whole thing appears to taste sweeter to me than it actually is).
