Animated avatars? If an avatar's file format is GIF, anything can play it as long as there's no inherent problem with the browser itself. If it's APNG, well... don't use that format.

Oh right, weren't you the one that kept nagging TTE to not use apng's because not enough people were able to see them? Because if everyone had that attitude there would be zero progress in any kind of technology :P

Too bad the situation is exactly unchanged from years ago on both Bulbapedia and browsers in general. It's one thing to scream "progress!", and yet, it's another for practicality. Pretty much every other site doesn't use APNGs, at least from what I've used.

Well then there was a problem with my old browser, because the gif avatars would not animate back when I was using Safari. Idk why though, I don't know much about this stuff ^^'

Not enough people use apng's because not enough browsers support them. Not enough broswers support anpg's because not enough people use them. It's a vicious circle that has to be broken if we want progress. Up to someone to make the first move.
