Probably because it'll cause an outcry and it isn't much of a problem. It was suggested a while ago every board have their own general chat thread which was then put into motion, which is probably why there are so many chat threads now. This chat, tea in the garden random messages, the situation room and the entertainment inc. chat (something with bomb in the title) all predate that though.
Well, they are a problem. People just use them to post and run. Up their post count. This in turn buries new threads that might otherwise get looked at.
Pretty much all of them are stickied, meaning they can bury nothing. Also what do you care if people use them to up their post count. Are you saying you're jealous of other people's post counts? :P
You've completely missed the point. I'm not talking about chats, I'm talking about the threads I've mentioned above. And, no post count is the least of my concerns. My concern is that these dumb threads that people use to hit and run are burying threads that are new.

If a thread is buried, that'd suggest they aren't popular with the community, few or none want to contribute.

Oh those things. Don't see why you would expect conversation in them, but yeah they are stupid. And do bury better threads. Before we got all those the OtB forum certainly was more fun.

I've seen threads that have only been up for an hour buried by these threads by the actions of only 1 user within the span of like 10 minutes.

So it has nothing to do with popularity.

I contacted the head admin and he said it is something that they'll be looking into to fix.

I live in NY where some of the best pizzas are made, so I have pizza like once or twice a week. How was it cooked?

You're making me miss those New Yorker Pizzas I loved to eat back in NY. xD

I prefer New York style over Chicago style too. The deep dish just has too much sauce for me, but when I've been in NYC the pizzas have been thin and cheesy.

I haven't tried the Chicago style before. Are they that deep? From the pictures, they look like pies. xD

Eww mushrooms, cannot stand them. I think it's the texture that really puts me off them.

    Making soup right now :D

Pizzas are a pie. Chicago style is more like a cake. Chicago style pizza IMO sucks. Nothing can beat an Italian style New York pizza. Its how its made(stone over) and the ingredients that its made out of(ingredients that you can only get from here). You just can't get anything like it outside of NY. And, I've tried pizza in a lot of different places.
