In my state, my vote went mostly to waste too cause all the laws/amendments I vote for/against, ended up getting the opposite of what I wanted. But everything else helped.

At least with mainstream tastes it's easy to find people who share your taste and then you can discuss it with them. Things are always more fun if you have someone to discuss them with.
