Holy crap, I really don't like the direction this thread is taking.

Meditate, talk to a counselor, take a step back and breathe, and look at the big picture. Nothing is as bad as it first seems. I may or may not have depression so I'm not going to pretend to understand how people feel, but wallowing in pity certainly isn't going to help anyone's mood.

I used to be all down and stuff because I've only had 1 girlfriend and been on 1 official date.

But then I realized that you don't need a significant other. You just need that group of friends you can hang out with. I forget about all of my problems when I'm hanging out with those guys.

It isn't always that simple. I've been to counselers and tried to talk to people about my problems and it didnt really help, sometimes it would just make me feel worse to talk about it. Also I feel like they wouldnt really understand. Half my problems now I feel like I can't really talk about around other people.

I'm yet to meet anyone I can truly express myself to, and I have a hard time opening up to people. I've always found the easiest way to deal with my problems is throw them under a rug, because eventually, I'm sure I can find a solution for them.

There's a difference between wallowing in pity and discussing ones problems in hopes to help others with theirs, though.

I guess it's just complicated, some people have an easier time discussing their problems than others do, but I still think it's best to confront your problems instead of just ignoring them and pushing them aside. I'm not trained or anything but that's what I think.

As for discussing problems, it's fine to help each other out; that's what friends are for. I love helping people out and I mentally exhausted myself last year because of it. I just think it would be better to talk via VM or PM, or in one of the threads for discussing depression or other issues, and not in the BCCT. Obviously I'm not the owner of this thread or a mod, but that's my opinion on it.

This thread's really just for whatever comes up. We've had deeper personal discussions in the past without problems. Yeah, there are threads for things like this, but most of the people you might want to talk to about it won't be in there giving advice. Things come and go here, not something to be bothered by. That's just the nature of it.

People who were around back when Poltergeist was active would know exactly what I mean, but I think that's now only me, @TheMissingno.;, @Mijzelffan;, and maybe one or two others who pop in from time to time.

I'm here or there but not here and there. I guess it really depends on my juggling of daily duties with work and stiff I suppose that is how it is but you make fun of things that happen when they happen and make yourself happy.

I'm here most of the time for people to talk to, but when I'm not here is usually when my friends on Skype need me most, which is annoying. I'd like to think I'm always here for people to talk to if they're in trouble or feel bad, but really, I think I need to start managing my time a bit better. I'd say every chat thread on Bulbagarden exists for people to help others out, after all, isn't that what friends are for?

This thread is only relevant to what is on our minds. I feel that anything, so long that it is appropriate, is to be discussed here. There are times when this thread is light hearted and fun, while there are other times that this thread is down to Earth and emotion stirring.

I see no problem with either. Makes me feel like I'm around friends.
