I dunno what I consider myself, I tend to try to look on the realistic side of things, which can either be good or bad depending on the situation.

No. Depressive realism (me here, hi, how's it going) is similar to pessimism, but not quite the same. Pessimists assume the worst outcome will happen, but realists just prepare for it. Depressive realists mainly focus on the negative outcomes, but they just take whatever happens as it is.
