My biggest problem with it was that you couldn't use a custom avatar.

Only the mods get custom avatars there. They said it was to reduce server stress, which may be the case, I don't know.

I think it's just because they don't want to deal with it. This server literally maxes out from time to time, yet they still allow us to have custom avatars.

That's what I think the reason is too. Another reason why this is the best forum on the interwebs imo :P we all have custom avatars (well most of us) and it operates perfectly fine.

They do have a General Chat thread. It is horrible. It's like a clique; if you're not one of "the gang," then you don't belong there, and they will harass you or ignore you until you leave. What's worse is that a few members are under the protection of some of the mods, so they can do almost anything they want without being infracted or banned.

I once saw a thread created by one of these users in the Misc. section specifically bashing and insulting another user, and the OP was not infracted or banned. The thread was just closed after a couple people joined in on the "fun."

Exactly, man. If you aren't part if the popular gang you'll just be ignored or harassed by the 'cool' people. Most of the untouchables are those that were once mods or are friends with mods. I know that I'm friends with a couple mods here, but I'm sure they'd still warn me if I was being a dick.

It's not a nice forum to be on, if you aren't familiar to the most active members, they just don't want to know you. Definitely a huge case of elitism and dick-waving over there.

I posted in the second one once, and I experienced first hand that if you aren't one of the popular guys, they just interact with you in a poor manner.

I can't really judge based off of mod staff. There's only one website that I actually like the staff. I feel that they are the only ones who are modding based off their own decisions, rather than doing what they're told to do.

It's not just the staff that is the problem there though. It's the membership as a whole, especially in the Misc. section.

Yeah I was there for like a week but it just isn't really that good so I don't go on there anymore.

Plus they don't have blogs, and I'm not even sure if they have a mafia section.

I don't know, I wasn't really active here in April '^^ but really, I wouldn't put it past some of those guys.
