Ah, man, I know what you mean. There's only so much you do job hunting wise and being unemployed you will have lots of downtime. I listen to an extraordinary amount of music because it's how I spend time no sleeping, volunteering or searching for work.
Re: The Bulbagarden Conversational Chat Thread Vol 4
I volunteer but only 2 mornings a week now, I could pick up an extra day or two to keep me busy, though Id obviously prefer a paying job.

Don't feel guilty about it, we'd both want a proper job, but we'll just have to wait it out. I do three days of volunteering at a charity shop, 12 hours a week, and even when volunteering there is a it of downtime because there are times when there is little to be done.

I volunteer at an animal shelter, and it hasnt taken that long lately because most of the cats I work with have been adopted or are in foster homes, so there hasn't really been as much work. Im guessing more cats will be brought in fairly soon though so it'll pick up again.

Yeah there will away be busier periods, at the shop even just bad weather can bring in fewer customers. You'll be employed soon, don't worry about it :) How long have you been out of work or education? I've been unemployed since I finished college in July.

That is long, but I know people in their late twenties who have never been employed, and many of them just want to live off benefits. At least you're filling the gap between proper jobs with volunteering, it shows to employers that you're willing to work even pay isn't offered.
