There are a few that are sadder, but I'll have to go with "Bright Eyes" from the Watership Down film, if anything because it practically haunted me since I was a child. It took until I was in eighth grade to 'rediscover' it- I hadn't remembered what the movie was, or most of the movie in general, since I was so little. What I did remember was the song and that scene.

Oh yeah, and the song at the end of The Plague Dogs film. I can't even stand to hear it anymore. Doesn't help how the movie ended when they started playing it. Now I was nearly sobbing at that.

Wasn't it supposed to be a reference to the song?

.-. There's a lot of songs that I find sad these days... However... one that affects me greatly is one that's off of the Pokémon: The First Move Soundtrack -- 'If Only Tears Could Bring You Back' by Midnight Sons.

For some reason, this song moves me a lot more when I simply read the lyrics to myself than when I actually hear it played. I think it's because when I read them, I always pictured the song from a woman's point of view rather than a man's, and when I hear a male voice singing them it just doesn't hit me as hard.

    Yeah I'm weird, I know.

I have to agree with you on that. It's a beautiful (but sad) song and when it's paired with the imagery from the film, it reduces me to tears.

That would be "Time and Tide" by Alan Price, I believe. (Never seen the movie, but I've read the book. Talk about heartwrenching.)

The ending theme from Wolf's Rain, "Gravity" is one of the saddest songs I've ever heard. I can't listen to it without choking up. I love the song dearly, but it always gets to me.

Placebo's cover of "Running Up that Hill". It's pretty tear-jerk worthy.

Agh, I really have to add more, I can't stick to just two...there was an ad against animal cruelty or something set to "Arms of an Angel" that made me bawl. I can't even remember details because I had to change the channel. Sad/hurt animals+sad song=baawww for me. D: "Untitled" by Simple Plan is another big one for me...

There's a song by Bonnie Raitt that was popular in the late 1980s/early 1990s and the lyrics go, "I can't make you love me if you don't; you can't make your heart feel something it won't." I just found that song very melancholy and sad.
