Thread: Happiness Is...

I'm sure all of you have that one thing that makes you think "There's nothing else I'd rather be doing at this exact moment," the one activity or point in time that makes you feel truly at peace.
What is it?

For me, happiness is barreling down the last stretch of in my bike road on the way home from college. It's a bit of work to get that far, including one pretty large uphill expanse, but that's part of what makes it such a treat. It's a downhill stretch, with no sharp turns. I don't even have to turn the pedals or hit the brakes at the end of the slope, just let the bike do all the work 'till it starts slowing down at the end of the road. Though I guess knowing my house is nearby really helps, too.

There's so many... when I get home after a long week or two at school, and I lay down on my sister's bed... and suddenly there's a little pink nose and bright eyes peering over the bedside and I see my kitty and just want to snuggle her. Even though she usually growls at me for it, but eventually she settles down and falls asleep under my chin.

Or, when I've finished a piece of art that took me hours to finish and had to be done over the course of several days, and I show people... and no one says anything for the longest time, but then one comment appears and I just feel so relieved that someone at least noticed how hard I worked!

There's also the end of November--when I've participated in NaNoWriMo and realized that I've managed to write 50k or more in a month. Even if the story sucks, it's still awesome knowing you did it!

- When I finished all the work and have time to relax for the day.
- Being able to sleep at the right time, when you want to. :3
- Having a relaxed chat with family. Not saying that we're always in a tense atmosphere, but due to own busy schedules, we don't have many times that we get to chat together.

-Just going at full speed in roller blades on a cycling road and not seeing any close intersection, meaning that I can keep going as fast as I want to. There's this feeling of freedom that comes with it (and all that wind in my hair) that is just awesome.
-Going to bed at 3 AM, after a long night of surfing on the web, and knowing that I can wake up whenever I can because there's no school the day after.

-When I'm done with my schoolwork and chores, and realize..."Hey, I can do something fun now" XD
-PMing my boyfriend for hours, just talking about stuff....<33
-Hanging out with my family and friends
-When I can actually get a good night's sleep :P

- Just looking at the beautiful sunset when I take a walk. It makes me feel so peaceful. This, or just taking a walk in the summer, when it's warm outside.
- Doing short trips with the college. It's really fun. :)
- Having a nice dinner with the people I enjoy being with. With some music and a bit of drinking it's even better. :P
- Waking up from a beautiful dream, and then just lay there in my bed, thinking about it.

And there's many, many more. The simplest things in life make me happy. :D

Laughing with my friends.

Just lying in a nice warm bed with blankets with that semi half sleep feeling. That is happiness for me.

Happiness is...

Essentially non-existent.

The only time I genuinely feel at peace with life and the world is when I'm quietly sitting somewhere, lying on grass maybe, with a friend or two feeling the sunshine on my skin. At times like that I feel like the sun is giving me energy, like everything's okay after all and there's no need to worry.

And that's saying a lot because I am a chronic worrier.

Otherwise, things only ever seem "right" with the world when I'm with the person I love most and we're relaxing or having fun together.

I don't know.
