They're pretty cheap for video games.
    That's nice.

Hmmm, the problem with DS games is (at least over here) that they mostly keep the same price ages after they're released. Then again, I don't really care about other consoles, PC all day, erry day

Some of them do, like the Pokemon games. I guess they do that because they know people will buy them anyway.
    That's nice.

Add in Call of Duty too. They're fundamentallly the same game becaue it would be risky to change the game too much, if word gets round to consumers that the multiplayer function has changed too much then they won't the game.

ergo, gae franchises remain similar to ensure that their core fan base won't be out off buying a new game in the series due to new controls or completely new storyline etc

brand new games are expensive either way.

I agree, I think new games are far too expensive. Besides, I prefer spending my money on CDs or plane tickets

A brand new DS game is $35. That's not that expensive.
    That's nice.

Only a Sith deals in absolutes. Expensive means different things to different people, some of us don't work, some of us are set for life. For me games are generally too expensive to buy new, I haven't bought a game since January.

    That is an absolute.

For someone who grew up buying $60-65 N64 games brand new, $35 for a brand new game is really cheap.
    That's nice.

For someone that couldn't afford a N64, $35 is money wasted on games that could be better spent on food or whatever.

A brand new DS game is 35$? Retail prices for new releases are probably between 50-70$ here. Hell, I've seen plenty of stores selling used DS games for 60$.

(I'm not saying you probably couldn't get it cheaper, but if you go to a store and buy a brand new DS game, 70$ by the current exchange rate is the standard)

That sucks. Nintendo pretty much standardized their pricing in Gen 7 making all new DS games $35 and all new Wii games $50. I thought that was really cool, but I guess it was like a USA only thing or something.

The only DS game that I saw for more than $35 new was HGSS, which was $40 because they included the pokewalker.
    That's nice.

Why do you know about game pricing in New Zealand?

You know, the person I VC'd on Skype the other day. We were talking about BW2 and she told me about the game pricing over there, I was pretty shocked.
