Apparently that's 40 degrees celsius. Are you nuts? 20 is hot, 25 is very hot, 30 is unbearable, 35 is death and 40 is hell. I've never actually experienced temperatures that hot and I certainly hope it stays that way.

Because you live in Texas, you're used to the heat. Since I'm a Kansan, and it doesn't get to 110 degrees Fahrenheit (43 degrees Celsius) here, we have differing definitions of hot and cold. ^_^ Cold to me is -10 degrees Fahrenheit, hot is 80.

I'd say based on where I live, 90 is hot and 20 is cold.

80 is hot when it is really humid outside because that makes it feel hotter, generally if it's humid in my experience, 80-90 can feel quite hot and 100 is even worse -_-

What's there to explain? The sun shows no mercy. I guess it doesn't help that I was out for 4 hours straight with zero shade.

Exactly what Zima said, I'm Texan, hot is like that, when it breaks 100(38) in the summer that is a normal day. And snow is somethin g that is verturally unheard of, so we just have differing opinions.

Yeah, cold for me is like 30(utter bottom of the cold) and hot is like 110(utter top).

Yesterday we broke the daily record here, 106. Surprised it wasn't higher but yeah.

It annoys me so much that American measurements are different than the rest of the world's.

I actually learned to understand the approximate temperatures people are talking about whenever Celsius is being used because of that. Our units make no sense as well, so whenever I get the opportunity and people understand me, I describe measurements using the Metric System.

I'd have no problem if our measurements did make sense, but I think we finally need to adopt the Metric System, alongside other measurement units.
Another thing I'd like to abolish (or replace) is the electoral system we have. Popular vote is what should count.

There's no use being different if no one else can understand our measurements. Agreed 100%.

Don't even get me started on that... I'm not old enough to vote, but it's stupid and unfair. Russia has 83 "states," so I should look into how they vote there.

Well, I believe in our bill of rights and all, since they do protect our rights, but it still doesn't mean absolute power won't corrupt. The electoral system is just so irrelevant anymore. Representatives shouldn't choose for the people, the people should have all the right to choose.

I can't read American measurements (Imperial, right?) at all, except I measure myself in feet rather than metres. xD But apart from that I can't grasp the system at all. Our measurement system is less complicated in my opinion, but that's only because I've grown up knowing how to work it, right? As for electoral systems, I wouldn't know what to say on that matter, my knowledge of foreign politics is non-existent.

I don't know. America really doesn't make sense. We just deal with it I guess.
